Losing the Plot with Cheese

by rawkaren on 22 Dec 2013, 08:07

I have not fasted since Thursday. I did not complete Friday's fast in the end, yesterday was something of a wipe out too. Both occasions involved cheese again.

It's probably the festive season, the constant rounds of meeting people, dining out and entertaining. I feel like Christmas has arrived a week early. Up until now, I did not feel guilty about over indulging, but today it feels like I have crossed the line, too scared to get on the scales and and reminding myself that I need a couple of days discipline.

I do have a two day window now. Its quiet until Christmas Eve and even then this year its only OH and I as we have now done all of the rounds. So there is no excuse to complete fasting routines yet still have a lovely time. I'm really looking forward to us both getting some quiet time together for the next couple of weeks.

If the weather stays good, we are going to fly to Mallorca on the 29th for New Year. Have not been since early September so quite excited to see everyone and hopefully get a little sunshine if we are lucky (we normally do). We will not be able to stay all the way through to Los Reyes Magos (The Three Kings), but if we are lucky we might get to see some of the earlier parades.

Sorry, no calorie scores on the doors for yesterday. Take it from me though that the TDEE was well and truly blown and so probably was the carb count as I decided to eat some biscuits with the cheese  and wine of course  However thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant we went to. Have not been to that neck of the woods since I was a kid and forgot how pretty it was there. http://www.the-grey-lady.co.uk/.

My mum loved absolutely loved it and so did her OH (she has been married 3 times). He has a major operation coming in January to repair an aneurysm so we were able to have a good discussion about that. Naturally he is very anxious, but he is a very fit 72 year old apart from this condition, so hopefully even though its major surgery, he will be fine.

Don't be too hard on yourself Karen and stay away from the scales till you've got a couple of days' fasts under your belt. If you can't indulge at this time of year when can you so no guilt! I envy you being able to escape to some winter sunshine, hope your plans turn out well as it will do you the world of good. Meanwhile enjoy spending quality time with your OH and have a great Christmas! xx

Mmmmm cheese. I have to admit 16.8 is really keeping my eating and weight in check at the moment. Port and pate for me as well last night. A big fat platefull. And ........a macdonalds. I can't believe I had a flipping Maccy D. It was either that or Pizza Hut. Went tv shopping and needed food pronto. Didn't eat all the chips, and had a mango smoothie. Actually it was nice.
Have a smashing time in Spain Karen.

Thanks Caroline. I'm giving the cheese a wide berth in the next couple of days. I also can't believe you ate a Maccy D's either - I hope it was worth the calories!
Happy Christmas!
