So I was intrigued when I spotted that a women called Skye St. John had devised a female version, based on her own experience and leveraging other resources such as Ferris 4 Hour Body and others. No Fail Fat Burning for Women is available on Amazon. It's cheap and can be read in a couple of hours. It's on Amazon worldwide distribution and available on Kindle too for only £2.45.
So I'm on day 7 of her carb depletion phase where carbs need to be 30g or less. On day 10 is a carb refeed after a short intense exercise using 'safe' carbs such as sweet potato, white rice and squash (not junk!). There is no point in getting on the scales as the water will be deceptive. I'm more interested in my body fat loss, which is what I'm working on as a goal rather than weight. After the 10 days are over, you go back to VLCD but re-feed every 4th day.
So I can go back to drinking bulletproof coffee in the morning as a form of IF (because it's fat only), and still getting some of the autophagy benefits of fasting (it's 16:8), but during the 16 you can drink butter coffee so it is less stressful on the adrenals. I'm also drinking pink salt in the morning and the afternoon if I feel strange. I can't believe the difference. I was doing bulletproof coffee last year as I recall when I managed to lose 15lbs or so in 4 months, so it must have suited me.
I'm still doing Fast-5 as I eat at 1pm but I'm not hungry in the evenings so the fasting period (sans butter) is longer.
So I have joined the biohackers for a while and will see how it goes. Will continue to report!
