Over Eating

by rawkaren on 23 Jun 2014, 11:57

I'm still fasting minimum once a week, but I have been over-eating now for the past couple of months and as a consequence have shot up two dress sizes. I don't know what I weigh as I have been away for a while and to be perfectly frank, not sure whether I want to jump back on the scales when I get back tomorrow.

I'm not sure of my causes of overeating. Possibly stress and anxiety, but whatever it is somewhat out of control. I'm nervous that fasting is actually making me worse not better as the timing of when I can eat and what to eat is constantly on my mind and I'm at the stage where I'm feeling guilty if I eat at certain times of the day. It's a real problem as I'm eating until my stomach hurts which is something I have never done before. I'm a bit old to have a problem like this (never had one before), and so I have bought Jane McCartney's book , 'Stop Overeating' for the trip tomorrow.

I'm going to go away from the site for a while so I can re-set. Fasting worked fabulously for me for the first six months (in conjunction with healthy eating), but to be honest, I'm really having problems finding what is right for me. So if ok with you all, I will be around a little less, but will be checking on on the site from time to time, especially for any of the posts that have great nutritional updates. Thanks to everyone for all of their support and wishing you all well in your fasting adventures.

Will really miss you on here @rawkaren, but I'm not logging on much myself these days - also a little disillusioned with fasting. Good luck. :clover: Don't get too stressed; its not worth it. Hopefully, I'll be able to catch up with you here and there - sending all good thoughts and lots of love.

@rawkaren, this is an interesting link for when you have the time:

http://www.niashanks.com/dark-side-intermittent-fasting

It was originally mentioned by Juliana Rivers, so you may already be familiar with it. I know I can relate !!

Hi Karen

I have hardly been around for a few months, with too much distracting me! I couldn't log on at work which used to be my browsing time, then the new forum, I couldn't get it to work on the ipad & firefox !

However, all appears ok again.

Hope you find an answer. I agree with you backing off, you don't need the stress of eating on top.

Look after yourself and hope all is well in the US! (I have missed so many posts... :)

Take care
xx
