Busy few days ahead. Been out already this morning to do the Waitrose run. Minus 2, ice on the car and new ear muffs deployed :like:

Feel better after yesterday's fast day:
Calories 389
Carbs 18% (17g)
Fat 63% (27g)
Protein 19% (18g)

Large bulletproof coffee for breakfast and then for evening meal I had a kitchen cupboard staple of a whole tin of tomatoes, garlic, tomato puree, smoked paprika, 10 large raw prawns and a whole packet of zero pasta. Very large portion and total calorie count 169. Yum.

I managed two hours in the gym (an hour of yoga and and hour of core synergistics - what a gut buster) even though according to my new fitness tracker, I only managed 3500 steps in between all of that - so goodness knows where I would find the time to increase my steps too. So this morning I'm not 16:8ing as I wanted to eat. Also feeling a bit festive with the sunshine and ice, so my bulletproof...

Well like most people (women in particular)in my position (overweight, obese actually) I have tried all kinds of diets strangely enough as my title might allude I haven't actually tried 'Lighter Life' but have tried many, many others.
I have had some success from Weight Watchers in the past and have gone back to them time and time again but it just won’t stick with me

3 Years ago around about March 2010 - funny I always diet at the same time of year, what’s that about? anyway......I weighed 16st 4lb and started back at WW for about the 10th time in my life! Well I was successful and I lost 1st 9lb and was down to 14st 8lb not bad eh?
But I just cant do the everyday watching what I eat, I was now paying money for a meeting that I couldn’t stay to because I have kids and no-one to watch them and not doing the diet properly so not losing weight but putting it on so guess what? That’s right I QUIT!

Eventually put some of the weight back on and over the next 3 years I was ping ponging between...

I did have major surgery, honest, you wouldn't think it to see me the day after surgery though. I had a disk removed from my neck as the disk was crushing my spinal cord, and had a bone graft taken from my pelvis to pck out the space and fuse to the rest of the spinal and finally the two vertebrae and the graft were bolted together. I was fully expecting to be bed ridden for days and on the sofa at home for weeks. But I wasn't. I went in on the Tuesday at 7am, booked in etc and on the ward later, then down to theater at 1pm. I came to in the recovery room and was instantly offered a cup of tea. I was shocked, I had never been offered a cuppa after surgery before and when I went up to the ward I was given my dinner straight away as well. There were some post op niggles to do with my water works, but it turns out it was a result of the nerve blocker they had used. The next day I was on crutches hobbling around the ward and was so well I had my X-rays at 5pm and was discharged before 6pm....

Not sure about this, I haven't lost any weight is this normal in the first week or have I gone wrong somewhere? and thought using this site I may get some support but not sure I am doing that right either, as no comments on my blog and cannot workout how to put on a post if that is what I am supposed to do??? Seems I am failing on all levels.

I would appreciate some feed back,,hints and tips or at least the heads up in how to put on a post, I appreciate that I may be being a bit dozy, I can read post but cannot see for the life of me where I add one.

You all seem to be doing so well I would appreciate your thoughts. supposed to be fasting today, but struggling to motivate myself. Anyone out there up for giving me a swift kick in the right direction :dazed:

Thanks Rach

What is wrong with me?

Seriously, my Dryathlon challenge is going very well and I have lost about 3lbs in the last week.
Not only that, but I'm sleeping through the night (makes me sound like a baby, doesn't it?) and waking more refreshed!
I'm dreaming of summer now and nice summer clothes, not the all enveloping, baggy T shirts of previous years. However, I've realised I need to do something to tighten up the midriff area and what else can I fall back on, but the dreaded exercise!
I was clearing around the treadmill yesterday (it makes a good area for propping stuff on!) and hopped on it, still wearing my slippers. Not recommended!
Fitbit gave a disappointing step reading of around 1800 for about 15 mins brisk-ish walking. Now, I'm not one to do things half heartedly, so if I'm going to exercise, I'm going to exercise!
I have bought the kindle version of 'Fast exercise' and was thoroughly engrossed in it, up to bedtime last night (probably accounted for the good night's sleep!).
We have...
