I started fasting on the 20th September, after hearing from a colleague who is doing it too. I've tried multiple diets but never full stuck to them as planning meals isn't my thing.

I started out weighing 11.8st with a BMI of 27.9 = OVERWEIGHT! I hate being like this .My partner, Matt, loves me this way, but I don't...I feel fat and unattractive, I don't want to be super skinny but health and fit.

I started my first day of fasting and it was terrible. I started with 120 calories for breakfast, no lunch and then stupidly went and did the food shopping. I got home and passed out - instantly Matt made me have 4 chocolate bars and dinner to get my blood sugar back up (he's a paramedic). He told me I was banned from every doing it again.

Never mind him! I tried it again the following Monday - 3 litres of water kept the headache away, breakfast and dinner, but I felt really hungry during the day. After reading some information online and Dr MM's book, i tried not having breakfast and fasting...

Another work day and I have thought about food all day but still managing to stick with it.

I am going to add exercise today so that I can see if I can fast and handle light exercise. I have saved up some calories in the form of a banana to eat before I train and I will eat my dinner after. I really want to lost weight on this diet and I want to call it a diet so that I control myself.

today's food so far:
banana
200ml orange juice
chicken noodle soup
222g red grapes
black coffee x 3
1.5 litres of fizzy water
1 litre water
TOTAL CALS 400 (so 265 to use if needed)

happy happy happy!!

I am very excited to begin. Tomorrow will be my first fast day, I have put aside the food I will eat tomorrow and will decide on the basis of how hungry I am tomorrow how I should alter my food choices for my next fast day.
I'm really looking forward to it now, can't wait to get started!

I had never dieted in my life until about 6 months ago, when I injured myself through sport and couldn't eat what I liked anymore. I've always been a little on chunky side despite all the sport and craziness but I've always rewarded myself for sport with food. The injury meant I had to take stock and get control of my eating. I did really well and dropped 14 pounds and a dress size in time for my brother's wedding.

Now...I'm recovering from my injury, starting to work out again and building muscle back up. I've also thrown the calorie counting out of the window again and started piling on the weight again (it's not all muscle as my clothes are getting tighter!). I need to stop and take stock again and reprogramme my brain now I'm exercising AND eating again. I cannot reward myself with food and I've got to stop using food as a crutch when I'm a bit stressed too.

So I love my food, I have no will power but I need drastic action so I'm going to give this a go. I want to comfortably fit...
