Not excessively but too much to lose weight. Early days though and I know it will take time to be fully into gear.
Another fast day looms tomorrow.]]>

So I decided to stick to Thursday as a fastday, save all my calories for dinner and chose very carefully from the menu. I had a hard time during the day. Feeling hungry all morning, because my stomach was used to breakfast. Feeling very tensed in the afternoon, trying my utmost not to snap at my colleagues. Then the dinner was cancelled.

That Thursday night I ate my 450-500 calories at home, enjoyed my meal and slept a lot better than I was used to after a fastday. However it was hard, I decided to give one meal a fastday another try the next Monday. Somehow it excited me that I was able to stay away from food for...

<![CDATA[Beginning!]]> https://forum.fastday.com/blog/deb1968/beginning%C7%83_b-573_sid-3bacfbff50613eb2c9f51148afcc26ec.html My husband and I both love our food but both have IBDs. I have Crohn's disease and my husband has Ulcerative Colitis. I manage my Crohn's with a SCD/Paleo diet and don't need to take any drugs. I feel really well, but have put on about 5 kilos that I'd like to lose.
My husband says he'd like to lose about 10 kilos so we'll see how we go.
We haven't read the book and feel we need to order it to get more info. The 5 2 concept is easy to understand and we both can't wait to get started.
I was keen to start today but realise I've bought our meat for the week and if we fast it will go off! So I've cut back my food today and will probably start my first fast day on Friday.
I'm looking forward to the journey!]]>

I've been a daily drinker for the last 10 years or so. So I really thought I would struggle with 2 days off for 5:2, but its been easy. One of the reasons I enjoy liquid fasting, is that having no meal means I don't get the open-a-bottle trigger. But I don't want to cut out drinking on my feed days. So I'm working hard on my eating plan, to make sure I eat really well, and can have some wine, within TDEE. So far so good.

And 16:8 really helps with this - I open my window around 11ish, so I have wine with my dinner, then the cork goes back in the bottle.

So I'm not even contemplating a dry January, but I'm happy that I'm going to be able to enjoy a civilised drink at the end of the day, without sabotaging myself.

(why do I detest people who begin a sentence with So, but I've happily just done it above ?)]]>
