Ok went to Berlin to the fair and managed to be almost a good boy. Came back with little on and tried to make up with Saturday fast (instead of Thursday when I was away) and yesterday Monday. Today the scale said: 81.2kg which is 200g less than last week. Of course it is not the half kilo the diet usually makes you loose, but I know the diet I am doing is not really that accurate as it should be. I still eat a little more than the 600 cals allotted and I need to better from this point of view, but overall I am still happy to see the numbers decreasing which is what I want. Next goal is to see the 80 number. The back seems improving but still not allowed to run. I really hope to start on March 1st, that would be great. I am sure that once I start training again I will drop the weight a bit more easily.

Weight - 9.94 loss of 0.6 lb
Waist - 30 ins loss of 0.25 in
Hips - 39 ins loss of 0.25
Thighs N/C
Fat % 31.3 loss of 0.7%

I'm reasonably pleased with that, espcecially having read the thread regarding the average weight loss on this woe. At this rate I should theoretically be down to my target weight just in time for our holiday in Scotland in May. On my second fast day this week I saved all my calories for one meal in the evening. I never thought I would be able to do this, but it worked really well and may well do this on both fast days next week.

In addition as I'm doing the GNR this year (deferred from last year) I'll soon be embarking on a proper training plan for that. At the moment I'm doing 6-10 miles a week over 3 sessions on my treadmill, and may be one or two HIIT sessions on the t/m as well. I'm currently checking out training plans, and will probably start seriously in March....

I'm up late. I didn't sleep well last night, slept in and now I don't want to go to bed until I'm properly tired. I've spent the evening reading posts on the Forum. Lots of interesting posts.

I am feeling a lot more comfortable on the 5:2 lately. My last weight loss has given me confidence that it will work. I've been doing it for 4 months. Some months I haven't lost weight. It was a big thing to drop under 75kg. Now I know I just have to be patient and carry on, fast by fast.

The fasts are easier too. Missing breakfast and having miso soup around 3pm and then eating a more or less normal dinner, minus carbs, minus wine, minus desserts.....well, not that normal! .... is manageable and I can keep it up indefinitely. I have started to really appreciate that hollow feeling, that lightness.

One thing I have changed. I'm not going to weigh every week. I don't lose weight that fast and it's depressing and discouraging to get on the scales and see the weights not shifting, going up, going...

I seem to have been being reasonably good since I got back from my holiday but going up and down by a pound and not getting back into the swing of it.

Had a rotten day today - nothing of any interest but rain and nothing to do and feeling low. Decided to say Fxxk it and ate what I liked. Still not breakfast or alcohol but had crispy duck for lunch then egg and chips, chocolate pudding and ice-cream for dinner. I had toad-in-the-hole for dinner last night and feel as though I have completely lost the plot. Tomorrow is a fast day after which I am going to start using My Fitness Pal again and trying to make sure I stay more or less within my TDEE when not fasting. Right here we go again.

So yesterday we fasted. The house was full of men, installing the solar hot water, doing the kitchen floor. I went through my usual afternoon ravenous hours. Had porridge for breakfast, and I think I'll do that in future on fast days. At dinner time we went out to a Chinese Restaurant, as the kitchen was out of bounds and the house smelt of poisonous chemicals. We chose short soup and followed with one serve between us of steamed duck and vegetables. And Chinese tea. I thought we should have removed the skin from the duck, but I couldn't bring myself to! It was probably more calories than we should have had, but OH remarked that had we not been 'fasting' we would have had rice, and we would have had two different dishes rather than sharing one between us. It was perfectly adequate and absolutely delicious!
