My first fast day was Monday (8th April)

I had low calorie vanilla yogurt and blueberries for breakfast, and a chicken breast salad with 0 calorie hot sauce (Frank's) for dinner. My fiancee is also doing the diet and he had a cup of tea during the day and the same salad but with a chicken thigh too. Went to bed feeling a bit hungry but I didn't mind it as I was excited to weigh myself the next day.

Tuesday (normal eating)

We like to weigh ourselves every day to keep focussed, so I found that I'd lost 2 pounds and my fiancee had lost 3. Had some chocolate for breakfast to congratulate myself. Chocolate is my weakness and I like to have some for breakfast with a cup of tea...maybe this new way of eating will kick that out of me eventually but it hasn't yet! Then managed to wait until half 12 for lunch (not having a biscuit at eleven is a big achievement for me!), had a low calorie (250kcal) small cottage pie ready meal with lots of peas. Then had two healthy chicken wraps for dinner (about...

I did have major surgery, honest, you wouldn't think it to see me the day after surgery though. I had a disk removed from my neck as the disk was crushing my spinal cord, and had a bone graft taken from my pelvis to pck out the space and fuse to the rest of the spinal and finally the two vertebrae and the graft were bolted together. I was fully expecting to be bed ridden for days and on the sofa at home for weeks. But I wasn't. I went in on the Tuesday at 7am, booked in etc and on the ward later, then down to theater at 1pm. I came to in the recovery room and was instantly offered a cup of tea. I was shocked, I had never been offered a cuppa after surgery before and when I went up to the ward I was given my dinner straight away as well. There were some post op niggles to do with my water works, but it turns out it was a result of the nerve blocker they had used. The next day I was on crutches hobbling around the ward and was so well I had my X-rays at 5pm and was discharged before 6pm....

Back on the wagon after reaching my highest 72.5kg, not great for my 5'2" frame. I only have one or two outfits that fit. Truly. 2 fasts in and the weight loss is happening.

I'm travelling today so airport days are always good for fasting. The food is typically horrid no matter what class you are flying. I have however loaded up with a bulletproof coffee which should keep me going for the day. Bulletproof Exec do an IF protocol and they also do an extended fasting protocol. I might research both methods. I do well on 'fat' and tend to fail when I don't eat enough of it. I have no coconut butter or grass fed butter in the apartment though, so will need to pop round to Whole Foods when I get in later today.

Well another pound gone this week so that makes it - 5lbs in 4 weeks !! :victory:

I'm loving the results I'm getting so far doing the 2 days fast back to back. I don't find it that hard to do - in fact I find it fairly simple. I shall have a good meal tonight - then basically just salad for 2 days - this week it will have to be with tuna and lots of fruit teas. And then back to eating normally on Thursday.

The good things are -

* I'm losing weight !!

* It doesn't cost me anything !!!

* It's helping me with my portion sizes on the normal days !!!

I want to be under 11st by 20th June 2013 as that's my 60th Birthday. :like:

So that's my short term target. I'll need to up the exercise this week I think so I shall see how it goes.

Good luck to anyone else on the same journey. ...
