I'm still the same weight as last week, 10st 3lbs. Okay given my mixed week.

One pound off for Mr LJ who is now 11st 9lbs so well done to him :victory:

I'm off to run around like a headless chicken. I hope you all had good news from the scales. And for those celebrating Mother's Day this weekend have a lovely time - I'm getting a new toilet - don't tell me romance is dead!

Weight 8st 13.25

REMAIN POSITIVE. I can't have expected to just fall to 8st 10 in one week. My liquid fast yesterday wasn't great. The bulk of what I ate was liquid - I think I had about 400 cals or. I had tea all day and then at lunch time I had soup. It was when I got home that I gave into temptation. As you know, I had another pack of soup just in case. HOwever, my OH arrived home with my favourite crisps (Hunky Dory Cheese and Onion). I felt obliged to open them so as not to offend him. However, I exercised great willpower by only eating a couple and then rolling the bag away for tomorrow. One thing that helped was reading MIMI SPENCERS new book. I was just on the part which was telling me not to give into temptation on fast days and to think in just under 12 hours I can eat something. She was extolling the virtues of creating the habit of saying no and being really strict on fast days - something which I have become quite complacent about. Therefore I put this in my mind and put them...

After two weeks of 5.2 i was still feeling dubious whether this would work for me......no weight loss shown after second week of fasting but did notice that i was getting up to pee a huge amount during the night. 3 weeks in and 49 to go....this is how i am thinking of it..the weigh in showed a drop of 2 kgs...still dubious and think i will invest in some better scales but i can feel an easing of my pants etc so fingers crossed.

I have still not fasted. It's now two weeks since my last fast and I'm getting irritated with myself. I'm just about 16:8, but with no scales its hard to judge how much I have gained. So a combination of going back to high carb and no fasting is bound to have had an impact.

Today I order a Withings scale to try and re-motivate/shock me back into getting into a fasting routine. I'm still only a couple weeks into the new job in a new country, so I suppose I should give myself some space. Still, I really do need to get a grip because I know I'm undoing my hard work.

Hmmmm, lets see, just some rambling thoughts actually.

When I started 5:2, back in late February, I was desperate, so was my eldest son. We both need surgery (for different things) and both our anesthetists have said no, not unless its life or death, until we both get our weight under 40 BMI. For me it means continuing constant pain, agonising, sobbing my heart out pain at times, for my son it has meant the loss of his job, his home and depression.

I have dieted all my life, people think I have done nothing but overeat all my life, nothing could be further from the truth, I have dieted all my life. I have had the carb loaded breakfast, I have had the 3 portions of fruit, I have cut fats out of my diet, I bowed at the alter of the food pyramid, I have obeyed dietitians, Weight watchers, Slimming World, doctors and the media all my adult life. I was a good girl and I ended up being 281 lbs and getting fat buster diet pills pushed by big pharma.

Now that I am ignoring official advice...
