Hi All,
Iam new to the diet have been on the 5:2 diet for the last 7 weeks and lost 7lbs so far and I am delighted.
I thought initially I would like to lose 5lbs but then found when I tried my bikini on it needed to be more like 10lbs for my holiday in Oct. I normally have to hammer the gym 5 days a week and severely cut down on my food intake to lose 4-5 lbs  but not this time.
I will continue on the diet and try to lose a further 3lbs and meet my goal weight and and then go onto 5:1 to maintain.
My clothes feel better and people are starting to notice the difference which is nice
After the first few weeks I felt like giving up as the weight would come of and then go back on but I am glad I persevered so don't give up if your weight lose has stalled it will go down eventually.
Good luck everyone
Modo

Hello!

Thought I'd join in the blogging. It seems really interesting and I thought that I might be able to get some good advice off you guys!

Day 1: I started my first fast day today. I thought about food a bit more but having managed to persuade my mum & stepdad to join in, I found myself the motivator which inspired me more.

I have opted for the 3:4 diet. Reason being, I have recently had surgery on my knee (OUCH!!) and since originally dislocating my knee in May, I think the term is that I've "piled it on".

I'm 5'9 and 23. I do weigh more than your average lady because I'm so tall and by no means am I massively overweight. However, I'm not happy with my current weight.

I currently weight 76kg and my target is 60.3kg.

I am starting before the festive season, so I guess I really will be tried. I will aim to update as much as possible with my progress. Any advice?

Good luck to all  ...

Well, I did it! Really was scared that my stomach would be upset with two flights on a day of fasting/repairing. Just another myth! See I can do it. Why do I doubt so much? What I'm learning: my body isn't some fragile thing that has to eat every few hours. Everytime I think I can't do it, I do! I thought I couldn't fast while visiting my sister, I thought I couldn't fast when flying and I thought I couldn't fast while exercising! I've done all of these things and very well too! And the best of all, I really like how I feel! I have more energy and feel in control of myself. (even though I pigged out at a party).

I will reach my goal weight! I have no doubt! Tomorrow morning I'll see how much I slid back while on vacation - but I'm not worried! I can lose the weight again.

Strange that my kids didn't even notice that I wasn't eating while flying half way across the US.

I have had an experience the last couple of weeks. The first week, I had a birthday - my 50th, which was kind of a big deal.I still did 5:2, just moved it to Monday and Friday, but I gained a pound. No big deal, considering all the meals everyone bought me. :) Then this last week, my sweetie and I went to Las Vegas and got married. Wonderful time, and I gained another pound. I'm actually happy with that, considering the dehydration and lack of sleep involved. I'm ready to do a fast day tomorrow and get back on track. This is a way of life, I've seen how it works, and look forward to continuing on.
