Just thinking that I like 4:3 so much because it works with my kayaking activities.

I've picked up several musculo-skeletal problems (not kayaking-related) that might reduce my level of physical activity if I have them surgically corrected because the rehab period seems fairly extensive (my consultation about that is the week after next).

The surgery is likely to be over a fairly protracted period as it will probably only be practical to have work done on one knee/shoulder at a time. If I have to opt for the surgery, I'd be so relatively sedentary during recovery that I would probably need to revert to ADF as my schedule.

Given the state of my body composition and low muscle mass, any gains that I made during recovery/rehab would be body fat and particularly unhelpful. So, if ADF weren't sufficient, I'd probably need to take a look at introducing a fasting window on 'normal' days, and, if I continued to gain, then I might need to plan ahead for any WOE tweaks. And I'd need to do it...

I have just finished my first 2 weeks and 4 fast days. I have now lost a total of 2.8kg. I am very pleased with that. I definitely find fasting on a saturday (social life permitting) is so much easier than a fast day at work.I have more energy and am really looking forward to doing this in the long run. my start weight is wrong so my readings are all wrong. I have private messaged moogie so moogie if you're reading this can you please put my start weight at 111.8kg

THIS POST ADVOCATES EXTENDED FASTING IN VIOLATION OF THE FORUM RULES.

So I put on what I saw to be a mountain of weight which in reality was 1k (2.2lb) overnight  Which Moogie kindly pointed out that in reality this would not be down to the yummy scrummy naughtiness of the chinese (4 course meal) but more likely to be fluid retention  Afterall I am a tea drinker (and boy can I drink when I plan not to eat  )and on the day in question from 7am -7pm I must have had at least 12 cups of black tea :dazed:Despite continuing to fast on...

Weight: 8st 10.5

So ok, down .5lb in two days is no mean feat for me to be honest at 5foot on a good day;-). I honestly expected bad things on the scales after yesterdays blood sugar fiasco. If anyone has thoughts on it I would be glad of comments. SO today I need to be VERY CAREFUL. I am doing 16:8 BUT I am probably going to graze on carbs a good bit. I have a 17mile run later tonight starting at 530pm ( which is why I writing this now as I probably won't get time tonight). So the intention is as follows:

7am-12pm coffees with milk & fizzy water
12pm: bagel with cheese & rice (560 cals)
5pm: banana, slice of toast (200 cals)
530pm: jellys for the run (100 cals)
10pm: wine wine wine (300 cals)...... if I'm not dead tired

I might have some wine in celebration of doing 17miles -Ill still only be hitting around 1000 cals and I know its not a great 16:8 if I have wine but today Ill be safe rather than sorry on the food front.

Tomorrow Ill be back to 16:8 and try a fast Sunday...

Well, I am new to this forum, and new to this plan. I saw a report on TV this morning and it really interested me. I'm on my way to buy the book today, plan to read it over the weekend and then start next week. I've already found this forum inspirational, seen struggling posts and then great support. I really feel like being able to discuss issues, etc, here will be a great addition to what I can do for myself. Looking so forward to starting on something which will give me the ability to get some weight off but will not require so much planning and weighing and measuring. And being able to eat normally 5 days a week should hopefully make this much easier to stick to. No need to give up because I've cheated (at least on the 5 days) and I think I can manage to "be good" for 2 days per week. I'm actually excited for the challenge which is a good feeling.
