Thanks to people for their good wishes.

When I returned to the ward after my day leave the staff nurse told me that she was really pleased that I challenged the consultant. I wonder why she hadn't thought of saying anything herself. What would it take for someone at a lower level in the medical heirarchy to challenge someone from the dizzying heights? What mistakes are made because a consultant has spoken? Rather worrying, I think.

I had my MRI scan today but have no results yet. I've been told that the medical team will consider the results next week and I will be given results, and information about the way forward, at an outpatients' appointment the following week.

In the meantime, we are off on a planned holiday to Suffolk at the weekend; I can't wait.

I'm ok, with minimal pain and in posession of a masive stock of painkillers. I'm very conscious of my distended abdomen and can't quite believe that I didn't notice before! I suppose I just thought that I was still carrying a lot...

So my experiment on 5:2 fasting for one month has ended. I'm 7lbs lighter and have lost 2" from my waist. I also feel much better about food generally and am enjoying both my fast and feed days. So it has all been very positive and I am going to set myself a new target of staying on 5:2 fasting until Easter and see how it is going by then. Hopefully I should have lost another stone by then, maybe a bit more.
OH has decided to fast as well which I found a bit annoying at first because he is hardly overweight! But I've come to terms with it and am trying to do some planning rather than just bung a load of vegetables in to make soup. He's doing it for the possible health benefits and because he thinks his metabolism could do with a bit of a boost.
So February has got off to a cold, wet and windy start but by the time spring is here I should be lighter and happier so that's something to look forward to. ...

Ok. So I joined the site just over a week ago. I have decided to only weigh myself once a week, and must confess to enjoying the 5:2. I really enjoy dipping into the site to read of the experiences of others. It is at these times that I catch up on some of the great comments from the site admin...Moogie. What a great site admin. One who really cares. Great comments Moogie. You are a ray of sunshine, and I love the red hair! :grin: :heart:

Reached normal BMI :shock: - Yippee. 2 months ago, today's weight seemed impossible. I never would have lost this much weight so easily on a normal diet. I love loosing weight while eating cake 5 days a week. :lol:

After After advice from a couple of people I am going to weigh in On a Friday.

Start weight at 10am. 124.8 kg (19.9 st)

I'm going to sit down later and make a plan, feeling like I need to eat loads today as the weight loss starts tommorrow.

Water will be hard but I'll try the recommended 3lt .
Will check in tommorrow with how day 1 went .
