As this blog resides on a "dieting" site I suppose it makes sense to write food related stuff. However I don't feel like being sensible and am quite bored with "diet talk" as I've been on so many over the years.

I will do a bit of work now (it's what they pay me for  ) and wait for the muse to inspire me.....

So, I saw the show last night, and it makes sense. And is relevant to where I am in my life.

Where am I in my life? Why I am so glad you asked. I'm about to turn 50, only one baby left at home, trying to change my career, thanks to a back injury and kind of at a crossroads. Just failed at quitting smoking again - how could I pick up a cigarette after 3 months of none? What was going through my head?

Trying to find organic foods where I live, because I believe that they are more nutritious. Glad it has finally cooled down here so I can get back to walking everywhere.

So, now to try and take this on board. I know I am going to struggle with:
Portion control. Not something I have ever done. Obviously I wouldn't be 30 kilos overweight if I could.
Calorie Counting. Ditto. And I have to work out where to find that info.
Planning. Obviously I have to plan a little bit more my meals on fast days, so I can calorie...

Well Easter is over and with my great surprise I jumped on the scale hoping that the last 4 days of feeding didn't do too much damage and with much surprise the wight gained over these days is of only 300g, which of course is great. I ma very happy about this because most important I looked very closely on the amount of food I was eating and above all choccolate, whici I ate but not in industrial quantities. I even had last night coming from my parents house a stop over at McDonald's (can we use this word here  ). Great!!
I usually have my fast days on Monday and Thursday, but I am shifting the 2 days to Tuesday and Friday this week so today I am going for my 6th fast. I can't believe how fast time passes. I am in my 3rd full 5:2 week and have lost so far 2.6Kg. I feel lighter and I am disappointed I didn't measure my waiste at the start, but I already know my clothes fit better than mid March,...

Well that came up quick and now it is time to fast again. I have prevaricated for weeks and it is time to knuckle down and do it. Dinner is late tonight so it will not be my usual 24 hour and I may have a small breakfast tomorrow rather than wait until the evening. I will plan ahead what I am eating and do my best to stick with it. I have gained far too much and cannot face the scales so have to just get on with it and stop making excuses.
