I'm feeling better! I have dropped 10 lbs and that's my first step on my thousand-mile journey, but I've taken that dreaded first step. This is another fast day and so far so good. I added some bouillon to my morning and that helped tremendously. It was hot and savory and very satisfying. While I miss my morning coffee on fast days (can't do coffee without 1/2 & 1/2), the savory beef broth was great. I had a salad with lots of greens, 3 slivers of grilled chicken, 1/2 small scoop of cottage cheese and a small apple for lunch. Dinner again will be the Progresso lite soup and a few strawberries. I'm eating less on non-fast days (I hate "feed" days . . . makes me think of a horse with his nose in the trough!), not because I'm struggling to "diet" but because I truly want less. This phenomenon is really amazing to me because I can overeat VERY easily. But now when I overeat I feel miserable and I have come to hate that feeling. Thanks to everyone who comes and posts...

Not enough people writing blogs. I look on it every day but it's very slow. So here I go, I'll add to the blogs.

I have a new recipe book. It was one of those book club books you get in the staff room at work. I nearly didn't get it, but luckily my friend, Julie, did and she told me how good it was and I happened to walk into the office about a half an hour before the woman came to collect the orders and the books and I had the $12 in my purse. It all conspired. It is a huge hard back, Complete Middle Eastern Cookbook.

It starts with a chapter on Greece. This week we are eating Greek. Last night we had mussel pilaff. Tonight it was spanokopita. I have a lot of trouble using filo pastry. I swore I would stop trying to use it. We can't get it fresh so I have to get it frozen. But on the strength of this new book, I have decided to give it another go. This book says you have to leave it out of the freezer for at least 2 hours. So tonight, I get home at 5.15pm. I take the filo out of...

SW 3/1/13 =274.8
CW= 267.2 up .2 after an up day
Calories = 1,707
Net Carbs = 133g/32%
Fat= 98g/53%
Protein= 61g/15%
Sleep =7:20 95% now that is what I am talking about!
Steps= 6784 geez! and that is with doing the treadmill!

Well, my calories ended up being a bit higher than my normal moderate day, but not as high as my TDEE (2200 lowest possible), so I can live with it. Today is my fast day.

Regarding my calories, it appears I have the best control when I do the yogurt snack as I walk in the door from work. It is 4oz of greek yogurt, 4 oz of frozen blueberries, 1T raw chopped walnuts, and a splash of stevia. I didn't do that yesterday, I did my avocado/bacon/walnut lunch, and I went out of control afterward. Not a binge, more of an eating frenzy. Not sure if it was because I could or because I missed the yogurt, so I will go back to doing the yogurt whether it is a fast or non-fast day.

Starting weight (May 11): 63 kg
Current weight: 61.9 kg
Last week's "true" weight (May 22): 62.4 kg
Current "true" weight: 62.1 kg
Goal weight (Sept 20): 55 kg

Realized my last blog post has the wrong start date on it - May 11 not 17!

Still no difference in the way clothes are fitting, but my OH tells me he can see the weight loss in my neck/chest/shoulders/upper ribs (and maybe somewhat in arms too). Hopefully that will shift to belly, hips and thighs soon too! Have completed the first week of the 100-pushup challenge. It was hard but doable. Looking forward to week 2.

Only 0.3 kg in the past week which is a little disappointing. But, better down than up! Still have 2.1 kg to lose before June 14th, which is only 2 weeks away, so unlikely to happen. Hoping to get close though!

Incremental goals:
(Current) May 30: 62.1 kg
June 14: 60 kg (loss of 2.1 kg in 2 weeks)
June 30: 59.5 kg (additional 0.5 kg in 2 weeks)
July 31: 58 kg (additional 1.5 kg in 4 weeks)
August...

I am not a veg lady ( just ask my family and friends, they are still getting over the shock of my lack of chocolate intake). I bought a butternut Squash the other week and loved and this week I bought a Celeriac. Now to decide what to do with it?
