So yesterday was my 5th fast day (unplanned, but it worked out great). I've been pleasantly surprised just how much I like doing fast days!
My problem with weight and food has been a life-long problem which got much worse after I had children. My ideal would be to purely eat for fuel and not have have such an obsession about grub!!
Anyway, I find that towards the end of fast days I start to think about all the things I'm going to eat the next day. Usually, I don't start piling into the food the next day so it's not a problem. But last night, there were some leftover cooked sausages from my son's dinner and I started to think about having an egg mayonnaise and sausage sandwich the next day (today). I even boiled up two eggs in preparation.
So, this morning comes and I don't feel like eating (as usual after a fast day)but the two prepared eggs and sausages are in the fridge and 'need to be eaten up' (this is definitely a mind-set I need to get out of).
The bread in...

I have never typed a blog before, but hoping this one will inspire me in darker days! First fast day over and I survived okay, no horrendous hunger pangs or rumbling tummy.

I left having breakfast until 11am as I'm not really a breakfast person. Had a banana mullerlight yoghurt with some Lizzie's granola sprinkled on it. 160 cals.

Found it a long haul from that until dinner at 6pm. Drank loads of water, no tea as I like milk and I dont take coffee. Had a couple of spoonfuls of sugar free jelly when I got home from work at 3pm, then nothing until my egg and ham salad (295 cals) at dinner time. Tough enough sitting watching everyone else eat spaghetti bolognese but I managed. Stopped eating at 9.30 yesterday pm so that's my 24 hours done, but going to try and hold off eating until breakfast tomorrow...

Here's to not overeating now on my non fast days - think I need to throw some exercise in through the week - just to make sure!

Day two of my 5:2 and I'm definitely feeling more hungry now but I think I'm quite fatigued through work and could hit the sack, should be home by 8 so mucho haddock for me!

I walk past a chippy, Indian, Chinese, Italian and a greasy chicken place on my walk to the train station and I'm gonna enjoy the smell and enjoy my dinner even more. Totally gonna enjoy an ice cold beer for celebrating no takeaway!

My weight loss has been rather slow, with lots of high spikes between fasting days. In the last week or so I've been adding in the occasional 16:8 day on 'feed' days. Seems to be helping - my weight holds steady now between fast days, and my rate of loss looks like it might be increasing a bit.

Not finding it hard to do, either. I usually start eating around 1 pm, and don't eat after 9 pm.

Still a long way to go, 20+ kg ... but I'm nearly 4 kg down now, since starting in late April.

Today is a fasting day for me and I will keep busy with work and a long walk on this sunny cool July day. My spirits are up and I feel great...all I think due to being back on my fasting schedule.

Focusing on more water today. I know I haven't been drinking enough. I am filling a container to keep in the fridge so I can track better.

I am still having a few cravings for higher carbs so I think this 3rd fast will help. I know this is the lifestyle for me and am so glad to have found this site. All the information you want is right here. Many thanks to the people who run this program!
