So here we are on my journey

Leading up to Christmas I did a few more fast days, trying out different things to see what I could eat to get the most from my fast day and it’s gone pretty well but obviously as we were on holiday I ate far more than I would normally have done!

So today’s food was:

Breakfast
Small banana (89c)
Black coffee
Water
89CALS

Lunch
100g grapes (65c)
Water
100g strawberries (27c)
Cuppa soup (91c)
183 CALS

Snack
1 apple (47c)
Water

This leaves me with another 300 or so for tonight.

The best feeling of all is that I am doing this at work, I thought I would struggle and it has been fine!!! Go me!

I stumbled across the Michael Mosley documentary and was convinced by the arguments that this could be just the thing I need. Seeing the new slim Michael with his lowered blood glucose levels was a huge recommendation. Type II diabetes runs in my family and my apple shape certainly makes it look like I could head that way.

I decided on Wednesday and Friday as fast days. I was nervous about the fasting but actually found it doable. Having read other people's experiences I knew hunger was transient and that helped me keep out of the biscuit tin. I found soup to be a great lunch food and I could then have a kiddy sized portion of dinner. The fact that the next day was a feast day certainly made it easier. What I was expecting is I didn't wake up the next day starving. I had a normal breakfast of cereal, milk and yoghurt but simply enjoyed it rather than devoured it.

I was 74kg when I started and am now 73.3 kg which I'm more than happy with. On calorie restricted diets my weight has just...

I weighed myself yesterday (getting in the swing of Friday weighing for the Valentine's Day Challenge) & my scales say I've lost 5.49lbs :-o

It must be more to do with time rather than actual weight though. It was a brand new set of scales & I must have weighed straight out of the box in the afternoon rather than my usual morning. Even so, it's a nice boost & an encouraging start.

I will have to amend my Valetine's Day Challenge target though

Am eating healthily on my feed days. I've always have a problem with portion control so weighing/measuring is slowly becoming my new obsession. DH doesn't get that yet & just ladles food onto the plates. He has slowly put on weight too & found the new scales very scary.

We are looking after our darling grandson for a few hours today while his Mum...

Six fasts completed and that's another 3lb off. I am really, really pleased.

Fasting has been ok so far which has surprised me. Yesterday I stayed in bed all day which made it so easy! Probably not the most sensible way to tackle fasting but it worked for me. I am terminally lazy! Now if I could do that three times a week.....

I've hurt my leg and can just about hobble at the moment which is worrying me a bit as walking with my dogs is a big part of my routine and I get quite a few extra kcals on my 'normal' days (although I've been trying not to eat them). OH's portions (he does the cooking or we would all either starve to death or be regulars at A&E) are a bit on the massive side and this worries me a bit as I'm not exercising and I don't want to make a big thing of it as we love food and I don't want to be a diet bore.

In other news - five days left of the Dryathlon. God, I am really looking forward to a glass of wine on Saturday. Last year we stayed awake until midnight and...

Current Actual Weight: 70.3kg (11 stone 1 pound)
Current Trend Weight: 71.6kg (11 stone 4 pounds)

Now that I have my first week of 6:1 under my belt, I am now thinking of winding down my daily blog entries as it is becoming a bit more difficult to say anything that is different from what I have said already in previous blog entries, and saying the same things over and over again can get a bit repetitive and boring over time. I have had thoughts about reducing the frequency of these posts to once a week or possibly even once a month. However, there are often times outside of these periods when something important crops up which I might want to share. Because of that, I will probably end up writing a blog entry whenever this is the case, rather than having any set frequency or times for doing so.

If I don't post a blog entry for any particular day from now on, it will be because that day has gone more or less the same as the previous such days which means that there would be no point in...
