My 3:4 week begins and ends on a Monday. It has to be this way to enable me to commit but I feel it is unfortunate that weigh day is Monday morning, not only after two Feast days but after two weekend Feast Days.

Very proud of my control and management of Monday to Friday. Could have eaten better and healthier on Wednesday (Feast day) but got through the week. And then the weekend started....

Being a yoyo dieter I of course have a list of excuses. It was freezing cold. I was exhausted. I didn't sleep enough. I was working most of the weekend in a difficult environment. I couldn't drink enough due to working. I had planned a healthy lunch Saturday but it was so cold it just wasn't going to happen. Blah blah blah.

The result was that I felt I ate too much of the wrong foods, and not enough of the right foods.

My aim was to limit carbs - on Saturday I did OK although I had carbs at every meal but did control the portion. On Sunday I did...

..because today I am going to Blighty (England). In just over an hour I will load up my little yellow Smart car and head up to Calais over 400kms away! Oh and this is a fast day. For the first time in living memory I will not have a big bag of sweets in the car. I will not stop at a favourite service area for a cheese baguette. I will stop for a break and a black coffee and will have water and sugar free gum in the car. Not sure how this is going to work but today is a fast day and I do not want to change it. For me it is very important to have set days I stick to. I travel back next Monday which is also a fast day but at least I will know what to expect. I will visit the fasting today thread and let everyone know how it has gone. I am quietly confident.

3rd fasting day today...been feeling hungry all day today - not sure whey (could be time of the month??) Will look forward to my breakfast tomorrow!

Not sure how the last week has gone..as have entertained quite a lot (paying guests) and although have been careful about what I'm eating I can't say the same for my wine intake - :-(

Tomorrow I will weight myself and record as I read somewhere it was best to weight yourself after a fasting day. Am recording most of what I eat and the exercise I do on myfitnesspal - and I have to say it does seem to help me - well stops me thinking about another piece of chocolate as it gets recorded!!! Every little helps I suppose :like:

Fingers crossed for the morning

Well, I must admit that I am feeling quite good on day seven of the challenge. (It is confusing having different days for my blog to the days for the challenge - oh well.)

Yesterday I really did appreciate having food after the fast day the day before where I had felt very hungry for a lot of the day, and last night I did feel I wanted to eat but I knew I wasn't really hungry and I did manage to resist, apart from a few raisins, a few frozen strawberries and the usual cottage cheese which does seem to work well for me as an evening snack - in terms of me not wanting anything more afterwards... usually.

My food for the day was scrambled eggs, porridge and an orange for brekkie, salmon salad with quinoa, walnuts, sultanas and avocado for lunch, cheese and whole grain crackers with a small glass of wine pre-dinner, and salmon (again!) and veg for dinner, followed by a frozen orange.

I was really tired on my fast day in the evening and went to bed very early for me. I don't know why...

Yesterday I weighed in under 160 for the first time in two years :victory:
160 on the dot. Today after a regular food day yesterday, I weighed in at 160.3 I am sure my weight will go up and down a pound but I am slowly and steadily losing weight. Less than a pound a week.

Yesterday was a free food day and I did not have the urge to overeat to make up for my fast. I now feel a routine setting in. I get to enjoy three days of normal eating and actually look forward to my Monday fast.

The fasting as not as bad as fasting for a medical test. Such as a colonoscopy or surgery. Where you have NOTHING to eat except water and clear liquids. Having the 500 calorie evening meal is something to look forward to and the fasting is so very doable.

My husband is doing great too, and feels the same way about not feeling an urge to overeat. He is actually eating less on his free days.
I encourage him...
