Well, this is my first day... of the rest of my life!

My brother has been doing fasting for years for health benefits only (he's skinny, and always has been!). Lately though, with all the hype surrounding it, I've decided to read up and see what it's all about and can't WAIT to live longer!

Everything makes perfect sense; I  the science behind it all! :geek: ...And, of course, I'm hoping to lose a bit of weight into the bargain!!

Good luck to all the others starting their fasts today! ...And no stuffing our faces tomorrow - This is a eating plan for the rest of forever, so it's back to normal, until the next time! ...

For the first time I feel really comfortable with a diet. I have been on diet for almost all my adult life, hope I can walk to the end of my weightloss goal which is 68 kilo  .

I do have problems with Underactive Thyroid, but I do get medicine.

First 2 weeks on 4:3 have been more easy that I could even imagine, before I started this. Lost 3,3 so I am really thrilled

Before I started this diet, I was on a low calorie diet consuming only about 1000-1100 a day, sometimes even lower just to loose a few pounds.

Since january 2013 I have lost 10,0 kilo ( 22 lbs ).

Sorry but I have been completely hopeless. I cannot beleive all the rubbish I have eaten. I feel so fat it is no longer funny.
Life is very hard just now and as always I have turned to food. As you know I have been desperate to move back to England as well as the stress of my father. My eldest daughter and her husband have decided they want to live here too. They are coming over October 1st and staying for two months. This is to work on the barn that will be their home and see how they feel living here. Part of me hopes they will not like it. I am trying to be calm about it all and bevopen minded. It may make a difference to me having them here and I know my younger daughter is very excited at the thought of having her sister living here.
I am trying to focus on the positives.
Our Gite has been totally booked out the whole summer and the last guests will leave three days before my daughter arrives. Throughout the summer hubby has been building a cloakroom in our house as he could not work...

Yet another rambling blog.. if anyone actually reads this, please accept my apologies for maintaining a 'boring' blog writing style... this feels more like stream of consciousness than anything else. But here goes...

If I make it to the end of this week with no mishaps, this is the longest I've ever made it on 5:2! It's barely long enough to claim real evidentiary success, but so far so good... When I first tried it in early 2014, I made it about 3.5 weeks and to be honest I was not very good at settling into it. I feel like my second time around has been luckier than others.

I've managed to lose 10 lbs so far (4.4 kg), which is very pleasing indeed. Each Friday (when I step on the scales) I keep expecting to see I've either gained a bit or not lost anything.. this is mostly because of feeling a bit out of control on my feed days, though I've noticed this week that my appetite has started to drop on feed days. If that keeps up I'll stop worrying about sabotaging the benefits of the fast...

I had my weekly weigh in yesterday and I've put on 100g. At first I was pretty disappointed, but then I thought that's really not so bad considering the easter weekend has just passed. There's been quite a bit of excessive eating and drinking, especially sweets and chocolates. I think if I didn't have my fast days last week I probably would've weighed more!

I have alot of leftover chocolate in the house, which is a bit of a dilemma. Sometimes when I'm eating dinner I'll know i'm full but i'll still want to finish what's on my plate . Otherwise it would be a waste, right? But lately i've been thinking if I don't waste it, it's just going to go to my waist, so now I don't mind throwing out a little uneaten food. However . . . . I really don't think I can throw out my chocolate! I'll just have to try and be good and ration myself on non-fast days.

Today i've eaten:

1 store bought Moroccan soup 206
4 water crackers with dip 93
1 store bought Minestrone soup 167

I also had a small...
