I have thanked TheFrog already on the thread itself, but thanks again!

The "Your Ideal Weight in 1951" thread is just the sort of trivia etc that interests me and helps to keep me on track....

I am what would be called a very light frame... for those in the UK, my wedding ring is a size H and is now beginning to feel a little loose :), watch straps are a nightmare... as are bras.... can't get either one that goes quite small enough, and after 15 weeks of 5:2, my clothes sizes are now around a 10 - a bit loose on the waist though ok on the hips... but I am not tiny - I can still pinch much more than an inch ;) though I am not big anymore.... my BMI is now around 23

Having read through the thread, 1951 doesn't seem so hard at all, particularly as I get older ...

Yesterdays fast went well, but the sniffles have turned into a full blown head cold so I'm home for a few days.

Thinking about doing a fast today as I don't have much of an appetite, I'll see how it goes during the course of the day.

Just read a post from a type 2 diabetic, wondering if the lady will be okay, I will wait to see if Caro or Moogie adds to her post.

Ok so I admit that I have eaten obscene amounts of terribly naughty food and therefore today's fast is most definitely needed but it is blooming hard. I decided, because my stomach was so tender this morning, that my body could use a water fast in order to just let it... recover and repair.

The first day is always the hardest, you have this little voice inside taunting you with 'do it tomorrow' and 'there's still Christmas Cake in the cupboard'. Today I told my little voice where to go..'do one' said I. So here I am, blogging to occupy my fingers and counting down the hours until bedtime. The hunger comes in frequent pangs, however, with distraction it passes, and as every hour creeps by I feel prouder and prouder of my achievements today.

I am hoping for a gain of a pound only tomorrow, I would be thrilled to have maintained but I have been very naughty. My next fast on Monday will be easier than this after my stomachs shrinking today.

Happy New Year me. ...

So last night having had dinner, rock in gut feeling passed and I felt hungry, interesting I'm beginning to understand true hunger and not the bored type! Polished off a small tub of greek no fat yoghurt with raspberries, yum! Glass of water, cup of green tea and perused the forums.

Came across a post from obviously experienced 5:2, sorry username has escaped me, obviously brain still not used to this way of eating  who was saying that she finds that weighing in 2 days after a fast day produces better results on the scales. Now I'm not one who daily weighs themselves, have learnt that it just does my head in but admittedly became curious. You guessed it, weighed myself again, another 200gms down, who'd have thought it ketogenic effect perhaps? (hope that's the right word) Not a huge difference but after eating normal amount of calories no harm done. Another great point for my headspace ...

10/04/2013 1st Fast - woke up and had a large glass of sugar free squash. By 11am I decided to have a snack to control and regulate my hunger pangs. I had a poached egg with a handful of button mushrooms and a large tomato. At 1pm I then had another 50 calorie snack - two bites of my daughters left over sandwich and one olive. For dinner I chose an M and S count on us vegetable moussaka with steamed broccoli and green beans. I had this just before 7pm. By 8pm I felt hungry but perhaps this was due to boredom so I drank a small bottle of diet coke, I then had a headache so took some painkillers. I decided to have an early night but did not sleep well due to the caffeine from the diet coke! I woke early the next morning and did not feel hungry at all. I had a small banana at 8am followed by two pieces of toast and a poached egg at 10am. Since then I have eaten quite normally although I have treated myself to a large slice of chocolate cake this evening that I made for the kids earlier, this...
