After having an "all over the place" week, I woke up Monday morning with the intention to have a 16:8 day. My last meal was Sunday 8.30 pm, so I planned to break my fast at about Monday 1 pm.

The day went on, had a reasonably productive day, drank plenty of water, and did a good sweaty workout. 1 pm came and I wasn't feeling hungry at all so I just continued on. Before I knew it, it was already 5 pm. Cooked dinner, only had a couple of bites to taste my cooking, and waited for husband to came home and had dinner with him.

So my 16:8 day turned into a full fast day, since I only had dinner and nothing else afterwards! :D It's funny that it could just happen like that.

This morning I stepped on the scale as I always do every morning (guilty of daily weigh in!), and the scale said 56.5 kg. That is 0.9 kg down overnight! I had to step off and on a couple of times to be sure, and I even went...

It is Sunday. I am sick with a cold. I feel yucky. I don't know if I will fast tomorrow or not. I didn't do my 10,000 steps yesterday, only 8,000 and something. I was busy all day and then at 5pm after a meeting I asked Julie to join me walking in the glomming up the Forth hill and we did. But it didn't get me to 10,000. Today I haven't even put my pedometer in my dressing gown pocket and I haven't got dressed even. Listening to the Baroque and Before Classic FM Countdown. Looking out the window at bare branches of the magnolia tree. Doing the jigsaw. Leftovers for dinner.

Thanks to another thread I have now altered my goal weight to 11 stone. I may or may not get there. 1st 10 to go. But I am increasing "my body knowledge" I know that 16.8 helps me stop the morning nibbles and I can have a more satisfying lunch. I know that Friday night doesn't really need a couple of glasses of wine. I know that my body is changing not just from weight loss but from eating healthier food, and toning. I also know that as I am falling back in love with myself I don't want to ruin what I've done. That's all.

Well, I must admit that I am feeling quite good on day seven of the challenge. (It is confusing having different days for my blog to the days for the challenge - oh well.)

Yesterday I really did appreciate having food after the fast day the day before where I had felt very hungry for a lot of the day, and last night I did feel I wanted to eat but I knew I wasn't really hungry and I did manage to resist, apart from a few raisins, a few frozen strawberries and the usual cottage cheese which does seem to work well for me as an evening snack - in terms of me not wanting anything more afterwards... usually.

My food for the day was scrambled eggs, porridge and an orange for brekkie, salmon salad with quinoa, walnuts, sultanas and avocado for lunch, cheese and whole grain crackers with a small glass of wine pre-dinner, and salmon (again!) and veg for dinner, followed by a frozen orange.

I was really tired on my fast day in the evening and went to bed very early for me. I don't know why...

It's been 12 days since I commenced on the 5:2 diet. I feel quite positive at the moment but There is a long way to go and I am hoping that this blog will help keep me motivated.
My official 'weigh in' is done on a Saturday morning on my Wii. But I must admit to a sneaky mounting of the bathroom scales in between times, although I do try to resist!

The first week I lost 5lb and I didn't find it difficult. My non fasting days are usually around 17-1800 cals and I try not to think about it too much. The only thing I have given up, is alcohol, we used to have wine every day while I prepared the dinner . My husband still indulges, but on a Tuesday and Thursday; my fasting days, he does as I do and this includes only having 500 'Ish cals.

I purposely chose Tuesday and Thursday as my fasting days because I am usually busy playing golf.

So far my fasting day foods have included the Hairy...
