....I've just woken up to a winy and wet Thursday, safe in the knowledge that my fasting is done for the week. I fasted Monday and Wednesday. Monday was OK, Wednesday was tougher, but I got through it. I also did HIIT and weight training on my fast days and am glad I can enjoy the rest of the week. Strange how appealing a simply bowl of cereal and sandwich is! I had vaguely planned to add in Friday as a fast day, but I don't think I will.

Weighed myself this morning and I'm another 2lb down, with an inch off my tummy, so this does appear to be working. I am glad as I'm not feeling 100% today. I'm tired with aching muscles (as a result of the gym). No walk for the dog today (not with me anyway!).

I am going to enjoy a leisurely morning, with a long hot shower before work.

Onwards and upwards.

So I kinda gave up a few weeks back :( That's pretty typical of me with diets! I am one of those all or nothing kind of people, especially when it comes to food, so the 5:2 diet has me panicking because I'm not doing anything regarding dieting 5 out of 7 days in a week. This is a silly way to think, it's great not having to think about diets for the majority of the week!

I'm still going to watch what I eat for the rest of the week for a few reasons:

1. I really don't eat healthily enough; I will survive on a family size bar of dairy milk rather than a proper meal, and it's got me feeling bad.

2. It's just too easy to adopt the 'eat whatever the hell you want the rest of the week' attitude. That would be great, and sure we are still getting around a 3000 calorie deficit a week by doing the 5:2, but it's all too easy to go over your recommended calorie intake on your feast...

Had a lovely morning agility training, Bruno did very well. Came home to an email from the manager of my dads care home group telling me the home is being closed 15th June for refurbishment and will no longer be able to take dementia cases. We have been invited to a meeting at the home on 24th of this month which we have been told social services will attend. Lots of blurb about not wanting to cause distress, all help given etc. rang social services as wanted the name of the social worker and they know nothing about the closure. Have asked for meeting with social worker and care home manager. Manager will be on holiday when the meeting is held! Now have to organise trip to UK to attend meetings, sort out funding and find another home that will give dad what he needs.
Went to collect eggs and found my little special Bob, a disabled duck, drowned in the pond. Probably over enthusiastic mating! There are times that are increasing when I feel I just cannot do this anymore, it is too hard.

Hi.....couldn`t sleep.....a bit excited tbh with the 5.2 diet :clover:

Ok well i didn't really hurt my knee, but i did fall of the wagon today. It started good as a fast day, and my fast days are liquid only for two reasons. One because it's just plain easier not to have to worry about what i'm going to eat that day, and TWO because it seems to be easier for me to stay strong if only doing liquid....

That being said there was a party at work were there was free pizza and wings. Pizza i like but i could have probably walked away if it wasn't for the wings.

So i said well it's a diet day and i know roughly how many calories are in wings and pizza so if it's ONLY this one meal i am still doing great...

Then i came home and my family had left over donuts on the table, yummy donuts just saying please eat me, all my other friends got picked and nobody wants to eat me, i promise i'm super yummy....

I was still doing O.K. thou i only had one... Then i said screw it i want ice cream and soda, and hot fudge on my ice cream.....

So yes i fell of the wagon today,...
