I ate/drank A Lot for 4 days over Christmas, which was fine, but I had just reached my target weight, and wanted to get on with maintenance. So as soon as I got home (where controlling eating is much easier) I weighed myself (2-3 pounds up?), and immediately fitted in 2 quick fast days sandwiching a controlled non-fast day, and by the morning of New Year's Eve I was back to my target.

That feels so much better than spending January moaning about not being the weight I want. I love feeling able to take action that works.

I did have coffee with friends who were talking about Christmas weight, and I said I'd already got rid of mine - and then apologised, because it felt a little smug. And why not? :-)

Had a wobbly week last week with trip to Brussels. But back on track now and weight stable. Yesterday however was a difficult fast day. I felt light-headed for the first time on a fast day and had egg on toast at 9am rather than hanging on until 11 as I usually do. Felt constantly hungry for rest of day. Had large salad at 5 with fish as protein. Felt better in the evening but still hungry. In the afternoon I felt slightly grumpy all the time and short tempered. I also didn't feel as 'sharp' as normal in my thinking.
I have been 5:2 fasting since beginning of January and yesterday was the worst fasting day yet. Hope it was a one-off and Thursday is a better day.

So my up days are still really not up. But even though they are on the low side of my allowable calories, the scale doesn't seem to want to move down. Go figure. Today is a "fast" day. So between my coffee and tea and Castor Oil I get 100 calories in the morning, and that leaves about 400 for my yogurt and then dinner. It works. I have planned it all out in MFP.

We have company again on Friday, so that will be a high calorie day for sure. Tuesday and Thursday are "fast" days, Wednesday a moderate day. I am in week 2. In order to be progressing in the right direction, I need to see below 268 on the scale at least once this week.

So yesterday the pollen hit. I am not allergic, but massive amounts in the doses I exposed myself to while I was gardening do mess with my sinuses. Consequently last night was one of the worst night's "sleep" I have had in a very...

I wasn't caught in by the loss of weight bit of fasting but the live longer, be healthier, fight off Alzheimer's disease of Dr MM's programme. So I have to mention that I will be 78 in a couple of months time and my greatest fear is losing my mind. My OH is 12 years younger than me, very sound of mind and still working although now a year over retirement age. So something that might keep me sound in mind - and body - was well worth looking at. I didn't think I knew enough about it until one day my Daily Deal on Kindle offered The Fast Diet book for 99p. I downloaded it in a trice and read it all that day, well its not exactly a long book is it? I discussed it with my slim OH and the following Monday started my first fast.

I have been up and down the weight scales so often in my life I am not sure now what my correct weight is. Like all or most us here on this forum I have tried all the diets and even ones that were called a 'Way of Life' diet. They weren't, I put the weight back on...

Day two of my 5:2 and I'm definitely feeling more hungry now but I think I'm quite fatigued through work and could hit the sack, should be home by 8 so mucho haddock for me!

I walk past a chippy, Indian, Chinese, Italian and a greasy chicken place on my walk to the train station and I'm gonna enjoy the smell and enjoy my dinner even more. Totally gonna enjoy an ice cold beer for celebrating no takeaway!
