I'm noticing that underneath the hair on my forearms, I've clearly got a vein that protrudes on both forearms. The underside (as pale as it is) has always had visible veins. However, this is the first time I've seen a vein on the top of my forearms. This may be as a result of converting significant fat to muscle these last 12 months. Before I was this active, I captured the following note over 2 years ago:
Current BMI from my Tanita scale is 20 (its known to fluctuate widely). Apparently back in 2006, I was measuring BMI at 22 using the Tanita scale. I just remeasured the 'total inches' metric (as described in 4 Hour Body by Timothy Ferriss): 154.0 inches.
I've got some mild strength loss. Probably due to being at the gym only twice in the last 30 days. I started to lose my grip on the barbell when dead-lifting 295 pounds today ...

Just heard about the 5.2 diet. I'm hoping it will work for me. I had a total thyroidectomy in August and I am gaining weight.

Fasting is easier when I'm busy and at work. Been home all week, all I can do is add up calories and work out how to spend 500. I've lost 1.6 kgs so going ok. It's slowed down now tho. Will keep on with it. I'm over the worst

Ok, realise my problem last week was that I was pre menstrual! No cake making this week on Fast days.
Today ok, stomach is growling like crazy though and its only 10.50am! Porridge long gone, I think a black coffee is in order as the sparkling mineral water isn't doing the job!
I have also given up Diet Coke this week, I will miss it but I know its bad and triggers sugar cravings for me.
My husband has now joined me on it, boy do I envy his extra 100 calories!!
I am determined to complete this one without any hic ups today!! Watch this space!

I rode out into 83ºF heat and 90%+ humidity. I drank a gallon and a half of water, and ended up 3 lbs heavier after the ride (12 lbs of water consumed). So I seem to have sweated about 9 lbs out in the course of a 3.5 hour ride. Given the heat -- it is extremely important to adequately drink while riding, unless you want to suffer heat stroke.
My body is a bit of a furnace. Which is why I fast at 1,000 on fast day. I had to laugh when I got out in front of the other riders, and went in to locomotive mode -- inhaling and exhaling with gusto! One of the other riders remarked, "I thought you were having a heart attack!"
My reply, "If I were having a heart attack, I wouldn't be out in front of you. I would be sitting by the shade of a tree, or just leisurely pedaling along at 12 mph (19 kph)."
Such is life in Texas.
