Decided to do a 4:3 this week as my major reason for starting this life style is weightloss, and because I've not got anything planned today. Managed to rope my other half in to giving it a go too, he's more interested in improving his seasonal asthma but I'm sure he won't object to losing a few pounds either. We went shopping yesterday and have stocked up on soup, fruit/herbal tea and skimmed milk (he really doesn't like black coffee). We're giving Truvia a go as it's calorie free, but initial impressions aren't great and I think I'll go back to having my coffee straight up.

As an added complication, the littlest minibeast woke up vomiting this morning. So today is going to be spent chasing a toddler around the house with the "sick bowl" - not feeling particularly hopeful as we're on sleepsuit number 3 already!

Anyhoo, OH is having his first meal of the day now (I'm not jealous of his extra 150kcal, honest)and keeps checking if I'm k with that. Not sure what's more irritating...

Ok so it's a loss and I'll take it. Better than nothing. I wasn't able to do a fast yesterday and in fact while I easily made it til 2pm before starting to eat, I had a scary experience later on. So basically I had coffee all morning and then lunch. I then had a couple of boiled sweets and went home. I felt fine and decided to walk the dogs for 10mins and intended to have dinner then. While out walking, my blood sugar took a terrible dive, I got the shakes, saw white in front of my eyes and basically had hypoglycemia. I used to get it years ago on diets but it's been a long time. It was getting worse and worse even though I wasn't hungry. I got home and basically had to put a load of crap into my body to try and remove the feeling, so my food went as follows:

7am: coffee with milk
9am ditt0
10am: ditto
12pm: fizzy water and coffee with milk
2pm: brown bagel with 2 easy singles and butter
banana
digestive biscuit
3-5pm 3 boiled sweets
645pm: half iceburger,...

That's my first fast day nearly in the bag and I don't think I'm being too optimistic in posting now rather than leaving until tomorrow and the reason is....I feel pretty good, slight headache but have just eaten dinner and its starting to subside.

My day started with a lovely smoothie at 07:00 followed 12 hours later by a lovely Vietnamese Curry with asparagus and french beans, blooming lovely it was too! A mere 419 calories for the day so right now I'm feeling pretty chuffed but also surprised I haven't drowned; the amount of water I have consumed which by most standards would probably be considered normal but for me was an ocean.

Fasting is an odd feeling, I feel cleansed and healthy and after a weekend of feeling overly stuffed for no apparent reason it makes a great change. I'm looking forward to tomorrow not to pig out but to actually eat less than I normally would and feeling a little hungry today made me realise I have been eating far too much.

Tomorrow is a 'normal' eating...
