I rode horses, madly and wildly through the Australian bush land. We would gallop down fire trails, through scrub, race along beaches and jump fallen gum trees.

So many times I fell off.

So many times I got back on.

As an adult I seem much more fearful of the getting back on.

We all come a-cropper at some point in our lives, relationally, diets, work, family, home life.

Whatever you are struggling to get back on today. Let me say, you can do it. We can do it.

Let's make up our minds together to race wildy, ride freely and jump courageously through the obstacles of our week.

I forgot to say in my other entry that I started the 5:2 diet reluctantly. I have like many others done EVERY diet on the planet and was at the stage in my life were I was bored and fed up with my yo yo dieting over the last 30 ish years. However my daughter was getting married in August 2013 so I started the diet in February. It's a good job I did as the weight loss was slower than I expected. However the thing that kept me going more than anything was my husband Simon. He suggested and started the diet with me. I am competitive and I couldn't let him lose weight and me stay the same. He lost it a lot quicker than me, 2 stone in 4 months. I was proud of him. But if I'm being honest I was also a bit peeved at his steady weight loss and how easy he found it .grrrrrrrr. Anyway he kept me motivated and I am still going thanks to him! He looks amazing and is now off his blood pressure tablets for the first time in five years . Amazing! So thank you my Hubby, for kicking my a** Lol

during fasting days the afternoons are REALLY hard. between 15.00 and 17.00 is HELL. like i'll look to my left and suddenly my colleague's head looks like a falafel. a REALLY delicious falafel. but then it gets better. it's sort of like running. you hit that one hard spot but once you're through it it's all good and you can run for ages and it feels awesome.

Hello Blog, my old friend.

Wading through thick mud at the moment. I had a cold which ended up in a horrible cough and now I've got lower back pain. I am moving like an old crock. It's all about grief I believe. Mum has been gone a month now. It doesn't seem that long and yet it seems longer, both at the same time. How can that be? I don't feel it with my feelings but I feel it with my body. But I do feel very impatient and intolerant. I can see why marriages break up after significant deaths, like losing a child. I am finding T incredibly irritating. i just don't want him to talk to me. It's hardly fair. He's just doing his best like everyone else and it's not his fault that I feel like this. I'll try to be nicer to him today. It will be easier as I am going to work.

I have woken up early and got up, had a lemon and honey drink and tidied up my e-mails. It's not a fast day and I will make gnocchi with spinach tonight for dinner. I'll also make lentil soup for tomorrow night's dinner...

I wrote a long blog post yesterday and it all disappeared in a puff of server change over. That will teach me not to do too much during critical server infaces as they say!!!

I had a day off yesterday and drove into Port Hedland, a mere 167km (100 miles) away and treated myself to a fly blown muffin and iced coffee. Nor that exciting but made a change. It suddenly occurred to me that I haven't had a hot meal since I have been up here due to my avoidance of the dry mess where they serve meals. I'm not missing much though!

The rain has eased up a bit now and it has returned to being very, very hot. The upside is that all the grass is flowering and there are pools of water lying everywhere. The rivers are flowing and all the birds are starting to breed. There are small groups of budgerigars dashing around everywhere which are lovely to see. They breed in small tree hollows along the creeks and will be setting up home. There are a lot of goannas (very large lizards) wandering around too,...
