Fast Day 1 successfully completed!

I took my 500 calories as a tuna, onion & tomato salad, with a glass of white wine, for supper. I wouldn't normally have the wine but, as we went out for supper, I chose to factor it into my allowance! Tuna salad was made to order so I was able to control calories. Using MyFitnessPal App on the iPad makes calorie counting a doddle.

I didn't feel hungry at all through the day and kept topped up with fizzy water, black tea, jasmine tea and black coffee. I felt that, if I'd split my calories for the day and had breakfast, that would have made me hungry midday.

Freshly picked figs for breakfast this morning with a dollop of homemade, fat-free yoghurt.

Kinda looking forward to Monday!

Well, I must admit that I am feeling quite good on day seven of the challenge. (It is confusing having different days for my blog to the days for the challenge - oh well.)

Yesterday I really did appreciate having food after the fast day the day before where I had felt very hungry for a lot of the day, and last night I did feel I wanted to eat but I knew I wasn't really hungry and I did manage to resist, apart from a few raisins, a few frozen strawberries and the usual cottage cheese which does seem to work well for me as an evening snack - in terms of me not wanting anything more afterwards... usually.

My food for the day was scrambled eggs, porridge and an orange for brekkie, salmon salad with quinoa, walnuts, sultanas and avocado for lunch, cheese and whole grain crackers with a small glass of wine pre-dinner, and salmon (again!) and veg for dinner, followed by a frozen orange.

I was really tired on my fast day in the evening and went to bed very early for me. I don't know why...

sooo.... 14 months after giving birth to my beautiful daughter, I figure I should start getting this weight off!! when I got pregnant I weighed around the 9.6/7 mark (having battled to lose weight!) I embraced the fear and this morning found I now weigh 11.10 (and 1/4!!)

my other half has been doing this for a few weeks more so for health...he doesnt need to lose an ounce annoyingly!! and one of my best friends also...so whilst browsing in waterstones the other day I saw the book and decided I was finally going to get slim again!!

my OH has fast days on mon and fri so to make life easy, have adopted the samedays... today is my first day and I didnt quite realise how hungry I would be lol... I have an unhealthy addiction to energy drinks (which I am also trying to kick!) and I must confess that 270 of my 500 allowance has gone to them! but on the plus side not a morsel has crossed my lips... I finish work in 20 mins and then am greatly looking forward to my massive 230cal dinner haha......

I can't believe I made such a stupid basic mistake for this diet! I had been doing incredibly well for the last 9 days and lost 3.4 Kilos, which is a lot and I know its not sustainable, but I wanted it to last as long as possible.
The last few days have been, fast lose 600g, feed gain 200g, which is wonderful for the motivation. But (there is always a but!) I have been worried that I might be under eating, so wanted to make sure that I ate my allotted calories. All well and good until yesterday's fast day, I made a vegetable and prawn stir fry. But I was way under on calories, I added some more veg but that was not going to help, but then I thought, add more sweet chilli and teriaki sauce! It will give a real flavour hit and I love my spices.
All well and good but I forgot the cardinal rule of my body. It is addicted to sugar and carbs and although I was on target, calories wise, I had just blown my last 9 days of hard work sticking to very low carbs!
I know I still lost 100g today and...
