Well,
My fast days this week went according to plan and now I'm hoping it won't go all pear shaped over the weekend, I have a kids birthday party, communion and christening so lots of deliciously unhealthy food thrown at me, and I'm no doubt going to have a good drink whilst on a girlie night out so there goes all my semi hard work.
On the upside, this weekend is a one off and next week I'm taking part in the Dublin mini marathon so it's all good!

Weight loss you will be my bitch! (please)

weight: 8st 6-8lbs

Ok so Im out of my hole. I've pulled myself out and knocked myself about a bit. I'm now going to set a plan to get me through the Xmas which allows me to maintain and not put up weight. No point in hoping for a loss since if I couldn't lose in the last 4 weeks of no drinking then I'm not going to lose over xmas. The plan is to mix 16:8 with 5:2 and watch the carbs if possible.
i have a lot of parties so its good to have a plan that is not too restrictive or I will fail. Was feeling a little helpless earlier as had lots of cakes in front of me and I gave in and gobbled a maple pecan plait and a biscuit and then came home and ate left over tortilla chips and dip. Im still probably only around 1400 cals but it was a fast day gone wrong. Today is Tuesday and I have a party Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun. Therefore my aim is mini fast of 6-800 cals tomorrow(depending on the restaurant food for my xmas party), I wont ddrink. Thurs
i am going to fast but because it is a second...

Well today is my second fasting day of week 1 and I've just had brekky
of a 2 egg omelette with cheese and tomato, which is approximately half of my allowance for today. I found some 250 ish calorie frozen meals in Aldi so I'm going to have one of 1those for dinner tonight and fast in between.
This forum is a great support system and I know will make all the difference in helping me adjust to my new way of eating.
About 3 years ago I lost 22 kilos on the Cohens diet, but put it all back on because I found it too hard to stick to long term. But this I can see myself keeping up in the future...fasting 1 day a week is hardly a big deal is it?
I've never written a blog before but figure it's never too late to start! I'm turning 50 this year and I reckon it's time for some changes to be made in my life. Watch this space!

Well, as expected, my splurge after greek Easter has halted my weight loss, and I actually put on 2lbs. I am not too disheartened about this as I was expecting it. I overate considerably on the Sunday and Monday, but this week, I'm not feeling too hungry and have cut down on my snacks.

What I really need to do is keep to my limited calories when I'm not fasting. Think today (thus far) has been a better day, though yesterday I was feeling a bit low and did my usual of snacking when not hungry and eating junk, so not sure if I can turn this around.... If I exercised more then it shouldn't be too bad, but my mood & the weather is not isnpiring me to get out there at all, the school walk really just does not cut the mustard. Perhaps, if the heavens don't open this evening, I may try to get out for a walk or cycle.

Am wondering whether I should try adding an additional fast in this...

With this low carb stuff. I am sitting here munching my way through my breakfast and enjoying it. I think I have sorted lunch by swapping my baguette for rice cakes which I can get easily. I am thinking about stocking up on different fruit for breakfast and yogurt for puds. My other option, as already said, is to give up breakfast and do 16:8 on feed days. I also need to give up making cakes. We always have something in the tin and have done all my married life. The biggest problem I can see is this is beginning to look like a diet and my head is rebelling. The fasting I like because I don't have to devote too much thought to it. The other side of it is I cannot imagine a life without bread and cake. I can just about do it three times a week but making it possibly permanent is scary.
I have lots more reading and thinking to do before I go ahead with this. The other side of low carb is the difficulty I will have sourcing non standard things like oat bran or wholemeal flour.
So at the moment?...
