I hope my enthusiasm dose'nt waiver too much, but today we're enthusiastic, hopeful and - can't think of the word, but anyway today is focused on planning for next weeks meals, even managed to convince 'im indoors' to join me on my 5:2 journey, which I'm hoping will make it easier, and not like when he tried to teach me to drive and I had the overwhelming urge to run him over  !
So I've bought and read the books, love Kate Harrisons, could'nt put it down, and I've got a couple of 5:2 recipe books, I'm also on Myfitnesspal.com so I can input my recipes and get the calorie value - very organised, very unlike me!
Working in a kitchen will probably prove to be a challenge but I'm hoping the virtuous feeling I will surely have tomorrow at work will carry me through until it gets easier wish me luck........ ...

I knew I'd had a good week, and now I've only got 6lbs to go to my target. I'm conscious of not losing too much weight as it makes me look ill, but I think my target will be just right.

I'm going to visit Primarni today to pick up some cheap trousers that fit. I'm seeing some people tomorrow who I haven't seen for a while and want to look as good as I feel

Well it's now a over 5 weeks since I joined the forum. At that time I was looking for some advice on starting my first 5:2 fast week. I decided to do Tuesdays and Thursdays as those days looked as if they would be more convenient, most often.

The first week went ok but I was ravenously hungry after each fast day and was worried that I might over-do the quantities on the following days. I seemed to have lost around a lb by the end of the week and managed to keep it off over the weekend.

The following week I decided to repeat it but this time I found it very much harder. Worse still, after the second fast day in the second week I found myself constantly thinking about food and, even more worrying, I started to find myself craving more and more unhealthy foods.

I should explain that in May last year I gave up eating all "white" foods - anything that is high carbs and white (wheat, rice and potatoes). Amazingly, at that time I found the adjustment incredibly simple....

Today I am in my 2nd fast since I started again 5:2.
As I said in my previous post I was surprised about how little I lost after the fast day, but on the next 2 feed days even if I ate regurarly I managed to loose 500g. That is fantastic. My body is probably adapting again to the new regime and is a bit confused, but I am sure it will get on track fast.
My problem with the back is slowly resolving. I did my first 3 session of physio and I can walk properly without pain. I still have some pain sometimes when lying in bed or around evening when I am a bit more tired, but if I look back 3 weeks ago, now it is looking very good.
I don't know when I will be ready to run again, but I am looking forward to it, becuase I am starting to miss it and I cannot plan any race for the year and I don't really like it.
Well that's it for the day. Hopefully tomorrow the scale will once again smile at me.
Ciao,
J

June and July have not been consistent fasting or mindful eating times for me and it showed. I put back 6 pounds and lost all the progress I made in April and May (HUGE sigh). It is taking a lot of self talk to get over the feeling of failure. I know that there will be times like this, but I'm nowhere NEAR losing a noticeable amount of weight and scared spitless that I will put it back on and then some.

While visiting Colorado last week for my daughter's freshman orientation, I decided to take the time off of fasting/windowing and just eat when I was hungry. As breakfast was included in our hotel rate, I didn't want to skip breakfast, then pay for lunch and dinner. Also, I was with my DH & DD and wanted to be sociable and eat with them. WOW, what a lesson! By day three, I was so sick of food I couldn't believe it. My daughter and I agreed that we just don't eat that much anymore, so a couple of nights, we skipped dinner or had popcorn. It felt better. We hiked in the mountains...
