Short History: F/47/UK Lifelong weight issues. Heaviest weight 230, lightest 150 (I'm 5ft 8) I went from 230 to 150 in 2010. I weighed 150 for less than 1 day on my wedding day (so that was cool!) then a 5 day honeymoon in New York showed me gaining 12 pounds.

For the past 6 years I've been battling to hang on to the weight loss with moderate success. I immediately put about 10 pounds on, then slowly crept up until the start of this year saw me at 190. I dieted down to 181 when I started to see the signs of things slipping out of my control I decided to give the 5:2 diet another go. I had tried it briefly in 2013, and had moderate success, but given up too soon.

I've steadily been losing fat since then. I hit 168 2 weeks ago which for me is a weight I haven't seen for about 4 years, so in itself that's a huge success. The past two weeks has seen me eating out a lot and overeating on non-fast days. I am still fasting really well and not finding that too hard, but I need to find balance...

Silly boy...forgot to weigh myself this morning.

Today was my first 600 cal day. At 09.30, i had 2 small slices of weight watchers toast (50 cals each), a small WW yoghurt and an apple.total 200 cals

Got home from work and at 3.30pm, i made a sald using iceberg lettuce, raw onion, cherry toms, 1/4 of a pepper, baby beetroot and some fat free vinigarette....about 40 cals total

Tonights dinner is a 150g chicken breast, salad, small 100g jacket spud, 1/4 tin of baked beans. approx about 340

haven't felt too hungy all day

Second fast day of the week. I find Mondays easier than Thursdays for some reason. I think the beginning of the working week is better psychologically. On the other hand once today is over I've got a clear three days before next fast. But really none of it has been difficult. This is nothing like having to weigh and record absolutely everything you ever eat every single day. Two days a week I eat very little and the rest if the time I eat normally. But even my 'normally' has changed. I am definitely eating smaller portions of food and am no longer shovelling food into my mouth. I have lost my fear of being hungry and that little voice which kept urging me to keep on eating in case ......in case what I don't know.......in case someone came and took all the food away maybe.

I seem to have taken a step back from food and can see past each mealtime now. I know that if I am hungry I can find something to eat, no-one has stolen all the food. So I have become much more relaxed about eating and...

I’m just starting week 5, fast number 8 (I missed one over Easter) and although I have lost some weight & my clothes are starting to fit better it’s still a struggle to believe this is actually going to work for me.
Weight wise I don’t think I have loads to lose. I started at 11lb 8, and now at around 11lb 3 (bit heavier this morning after pizza for tea and not a very healthy weekend) so it does seem to be coming off, but this is kind of the weight I have fluctuated at over the past couple of years so it doesn’t feel as if it’s actually going to stay gone.
However my waist is bigger than it has every been (started at 38 inches) and not sure what my body fat is now but a while ago it was over 30% (33% rings a bell) so I’m at risk for lots of horrible diseases and I don’t look good in any of my clothes. While I wasn’t expecting the weight to fall off rapidly I was hoping that I’d start to see a bit more of a difference by now, so I thought I’d start a diary to record what I’m doi...

So, I had a good result from the scales yesterday, down 4 pounds putting me at 13 stone on the nose. Went to the gym to meet a trainer for a chat and OH MY LIFE....after about a minute and a half on the cross trainer, I had to come off it!! I never felt that woozy in my life!! Really bad. Thought I was going to pass out for sure! Anyway, after a bit of recovery, I pushed through it and managed some treadmill and stepper work, followed by a programme of weights that was specifically put together for me. OW!! I could barely life my arms to wash my hair after!!!

So, next thing, Debs (trainer) says "Oh I want to see you at spin class in the morning." Piece of cake, I thought. WRONG!!!! I really didn't think I was THIS unfit!! What a wake up call!!

But again, I pushed through it, then did an AquaFit class and then my weight training. Ok, so now I am SHATTERED but I feel...
