As a self confessed fatty am I worth less than anyone else in this world?

I left another 5:2 forum recently, due to some rather unpleasant remarks from a thin faster, this was regarding obese people needing oxygen, she said they were a waste of NHS recourses and should just try to loose weight, her comments were awful, even when a lady joined the chat who was trying to loose weight as she needed respiratory support at night, she continued.

So does being the larger human being make you a lesser person? I think not, my BMI is 43, I was thin once, this way of eating has shown me where I went wrong in my life and became obese, from depression, to childbirth, being stuck in with a poorly, prem baby. Hormones, boredom , just eating to fill some gap that didn't really need filling.

The fact is, I am still the same person, most people I feel are friends see past the weight and quite like me, I am a good Mum, I work hard as a nurse, there are a lot of people alive today that wouldn't be, because...

Well, my second fast day is over!

24 hours with no food was followed by a 600kal meal consisting of two small sandwich steaks, a handful of pasta and some spinach. Come morning i'll be able to start eating what I want until Monday, yay!

Already I'm starting to feel better within myself, I feel less groggy and seem to have a lot more energy, my thought processes seem somewhat clearer too, though that is probably down to the large quantities of water I've been drinking on the fast days! I also "feel" like i've lost size around my waist and my stomach feels flatter too, though I suspect thats purely down to hardly eating, less food = less bloating!

Tomorrow I'm going to have a handful of pasta for breakfast and then go on a walk, I've recently moved into this area but I've never really taken a walk around, apart from the shops.

I'm planning to have Chinese for dinner just like I do every Friday, really looking forward to that!

Morning all, MIL did well at the hospital and the plans to replace her knee are progressing, we whizzed through the appointments and emerged from the other side just in time for morning coffee. The hospital we go to does its own scones :frown: So off we went, and I had that little naggy voice in my head saying "go on, just have one, you can Fast tomorrow, no damage done..." etc. But I RESISTED and had a black coffee! And this fits in with my findings of previous times when I have managed to get right into the Fasting Zone, it becomes easier to resist temptation.

I came home, had my spinach and chickpee soup with some fish in it, a yoghurt, a coffee and then saved my extra calories for a hot chocolate last night.

I am managing to get out into the sunshine (and frost) with Gemma the dog this morning, I have a gap in what used to be a calender and is now a Family Organiser!

Wishing...

went on holiday with my mum and decided it would be best to skip the fasting for a week as she'd only get worried and think i have an eating disorder. like you know those parents who always make you eat a LOT and get super worried if you don't have seconds or skip dessert? well mine are like that (no wonder i've had weight problems since i was a kid but my parents are lovely and i guess it's a generation thing. when they we're growing up food wasn't as readily available as it is now).

so anywho, i came home yesterday and now it's fasting monday as usual. but i didn't gain any weight during the holiday so that was nice, but we went to London and walked around 7-10 hours every day so i got a lot of excercise. :)

but i felt sort of... heavy without the fasting. the fasting makes you feel so fresh and energetic so i missed that.

Hey all.. not sure how many people will read this, if any at all... but thought I'd blog about my 5:2 experience so far!

Today is FD #7, 4 weeks into starting the diet.

FD #1 I found very hard, and a complete shock to my system (to be expected I guess), but was very proud of myself when it got to the end of that day! Going to bed hungry actually felt like I'd done something positive, and the thought of my crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast the next day was epically joyful! I tried to hold off as long as possible before having breakfast though, as I've read that's a good way to do it (Can't remember where!), and then when I did eat I felt full so much quicker than I had done before the fast day! and couldn't eat as much as I usually would have.

Since then each fast day has felt easier to get through. Have tried various different ways of getting through them. I started off having 3 small meals a day for 500 calories, but never felt satisfied enough. So then tried a slightly bigger...
