Ok so I completed my first fast day yesterday I had porridge for breakfast and a plain omelette for tea. I surprised myself as I only had one small snack of a few carrot sticks and did not get tempted when the other half had a glass of wine.
I noticed that while my mind was occupied and I was busy (went for a long walk with my dog)it was surprisingly easy; it was only in the moments where I was not thinking or doing that I felt the odd hunger pang which soon went after drinking water.
Today the day after my first fast I do not wish to undo what I achieved yesterday, however, this has not been a conscious decision and to be honest has just happened naturally which I know must sound bizarre. so porridge for breakfast this morning and a bean and lentil stew for tea with a few carrot sticks thrown in for a snacks.
I have already been able to identify that I eat out of habit and not...

I haven't even looked at my blog for the longest time. I guess I didn't feel like I emotionally needed to talk through my feelings anymore.
Well lets see what's happened since the last time I blogged. Well, in my life work is just busy busy busy. Christmas was chaos (as you can imagine with young children) I was grateful for the holiday. I got to spend New Years in Scotland with my love. Jamie and I have actually decided when he is going to be moving in here with me (beginning of April, my Spring Break) I'm so excited about this, it's great I won't have to wait 6-8 weeks to see him all the time. His family aren't especially taking it well, and honestly I don't think my family are thrilled about it but they'll just have to suck it up. We've been talking a lot lately about children and marriage. We've decided next year that we'd like to have a baby, but Jamie is old fashioned and would love to be married before we have a baby, so we would have to get married some time this year!!! I'm not...

Given that I have made a complete hash of my weight loss journey so far, this is my attempt to put myself back on track.
I have spent my entire life trying to lose weight one way or another and hopefully this will be the moment I change my way of life. Prior to this I did two 12 week programs, the first in which I lost 5kg and the second I lost a kg, all of which combined to make me miserable through eating extraordinarily dull food and the prospect of never eating anything nice again. Not for me!
So I embarked on 5:2 in January and started off well but then went on a four month food fest around the world with my dearly beloved. Needless to say I cam back 5kg heavier so not only am I back to square one and then some!
I am now attempting 5:2 plus 16:8 three days a week and live a little on the weekends but not too much of a glutton, hopefully. I am also going to try and keep track of my TDEE. I find this difficult as we cook a lot of curries etc which isn't always easy to keep track of....

Today has been my second fasting day and I feel good. Hungry going to bed but it makes me feel slimmer haha. I had carrots and hummus for lunch about 3pm, then chicken with a small salad and broccoli for tea. I felt that I was bored most of the day and so thought about food a lot, so thinking next few fast days I will try and do them when I am in work or out for the day. Also went to the gym and progressed with my running! Did 15 mins run, 3 mins walk, then 12.5 mins run. Hopefully on Monday will be able to do 2 x 15min runs then more progression until I can run for an hour! I feel that I can focus more on exercising when on a fast day, and feel less sluggish for some reason! Last night I felt pretty awful at circuits (like I was going to faint or be sick) even though I had eaten well during the day, then today after not eating anything I felt fine. Weird! Can't really notice that I have lost weight so...
