Good fast day yesterday as follows:

Calories 502
Carbs 13% (16g)
Fat 55% (30g)
Protein 32% (40g)

No breakfast
Lunch chicken breast with mushrooms, shallots sauted in a little coconut milk and tarragon.
Snack. Bulletproof expresso (so small)

No exercise. Oh dear I'm slipping. I walked a fair bit but did not do all of my steps.

Hunkered down in view of the storm with 'Grain Brain' for company. Have read the science bit summarised here. the-5-2-lab-f10/dr-perlmutter-and-his-book-grain-brain-t9346.html

Next up is the four week protocol. Not sure I'm going to get time to get through it until the weekend but so far it looks like a high fat, low carb regime, ie around 60g, lots of supplements and plenty of sleep and exercise.

Yesterday I was STARVING. But knowing brekkie really isn't that far away I managed to stick with it. And today I feel great and in no mood to undo all my hard work.

Cold over, back at work today and fasting.
Ate alot out of boredom the last two days got a feeling I won't lose more than a lb this month, but then it has to be said I have been experimenting and now I feel I have the best way for me to go on, so even a very small losss this month is fine.

I had my first fitness test a couple of weeks ago and apparently I am fit enought for the cops but not the army. I was happy with that :)
I am now attempting 5 weeks of high intensity kettle bell 20min workout which a friend of mine designed. Hopefully the end result is that I improve my fitness and muscle strength.

I must admit though that I definitely struggle to do this high intensity workout now that I am doing the 5:2 diet. I used to do it prior to staring 5:2 and never experienced the muscle fatigue and hunger that I get now.

I stopped working out on my fast days as I just found it too hard. I'd get home and want to eat the entire contents of my pantry cupboard.

After my second fitness test I am going to swap to doing long slow walks on my exercise days and some light weights. I think it will actually be a better fit with this diet.

Cheers
