After eating and nibbling all weekend failed to stick to a fast day today.
Have I lost all my will power?
Will try tomorrow instead though faced with the most delicous cream buns with almond paste so it's going to be hard. ( the buns are a Swedish tradition that I have found very easy to adapt to.)
Have a sore throat so haven't been able to run.
Misery misery.
No. I will face those buns, snarl, turn on my heel and leave them staring after me!
Here's hoping.

Wow, I've never had such a shift so quickly. Looking good. Today should be easy as was supposed to eat out but now it turns out that dinner out is cancelled which I'm glad about. I've decided to try make my own coconut yogurt as its really hard to source in Ireland and it costs 4euros for 125g pot. I just couldn't justify that too often. The recipe calls for coconut milk, probiotic capsule sprinled in, leave it in oven for 24hours and then refridgerate. My first batch was too runny but I did use low fat coconut milk. I also wonder about the temperature of the oven- the recipe notes that most ovens are around 110degrees without turning them on - but I doubt thats the case in freezing ireland. So I've tried again with full fat coconut milk. It definitely seems to be settling better. I also turned the oven on for a few minutes to heat it up. I've no thermometer to take the temp in there. A tin of coconut milk is much cheaper than buying the yogurt though so I will find a way...

Yesterday I bought some new size 12 jeans. Wore them in the evening and at bed time took them off without undoing them! I had to do it twice to be sure it really happened. I don't know what the scales say and will not weigh until the June forum weigh in, part of my new strategy for keeping it all under control. The fact is this 4:3 is working. I hesitate to say it but the fasting is becoming established as normal routine now which is what I was aiming for. I am also beginning to naturally eat less on feast days. I now never feel completely stuffed and can happily say no to things. The wonderful thing is I can eat whatever I want four days a week yet most of the time I do not want extras. I have also discovered it is not difficult to be amongst others eating when I am fasting. I just say I don' t want anything, which is true. For some reason that is acceptable to people, so no diet talk or pressure, just simple acceptance.
This morning I feel empty and am looking forward to breakfast.
I...

Am I alone in feeling disappointment in seeing advertising for the 5:2 supplement on this site? Having started this journey with the purest of intentions, those being to change lifestyle to one which is measured, balanced and natural, I am now being pitched a powder to replace a healthy eating program.

If not, then maybe we should purchase a whole 7 day program in a box!!!! Oops that is already available from those so called diet companies that thrive on repeated failures to generate income.

Oh well. Maybe I am off the mark here, but would be interested to hear from others as to what they think.

I woke up to a wonderful weigh-in 160.7 lbs. That is 5.5 lbs lost in 16 days. I did not really suffer doing it. Fast days were hard but getting easier. Grumbles come and go. I am not starving myself that is for sure.

In the past it has taken me 27 days of careful calorie counting and exercise to lose 5 lbs.
I was eating every 2 hours and felt my entire day was focused on what was going in my stomach next.

This week is a tricky one since I cannot fast on my usual THursday as planned. I have the 4th of July festivities and that means FOOD....Barb B que, yummy veggie burgers, beans, potato salads, pasta salad, etc.
I will do my fast on Friday instead. Which will be hard since I like a glass of wine after work with my meal on Fridays.

Today I woke up not so hungry. I had a nutrition bar and coffee, some chocolate chips. I have a taste for a falafel wrap for dinner. hmmmmm.....
