Today I woke up and I really really didn't want to fast. In other words I really really wanted to eat. We were also out of coffee this morning which for me makes fasting almost impossible. I somehow made to through the day I didn't get home till nine. In the morning I had green tea and then later on a quest bar (180) and a yogurt (120) then later on I had an apple (50)
Dinner was a salad made with some shredded chicken(90) low calorie dressing (10) baby kale and green beans (35) and chick peas (50)

Well, another diet started! I'm rubbish at conventional diets. Recently been on Slimming world but the weight loss was too slow and too demeaning. The added pressure from support groups was a killer! Weighing in in front of everyone and then having to talk about your loss or dreaded gain! Not got me anymore.

So my first week on 5:2 is nearly over. I am about to do my 3rd fast on Thursday. I've taken different approaches to my first 2 fasts. The first I saved most my calories for an evening meal and then the second I made leek and potato soup and had it intermittently throughout the day. If I'm bust enough the 'saving' method works better for me ...

I'm also doing the 30 day shred along side the diet, I'm hoping to see quick results. I've piled on weight since having my boys and not lost any if it. I need to lose 3-4 stone to be at a good healthy weight. Fingers crossed this is an eating plan I can stick to.

I enjoy food, I love cooking and socialising ... I just hope I can have...

It is the last Monday in October and I am starving! Managed to get through the morning on two herbal teas, even managed to cook my 15 yr old son a brunch which was tantalizing for two of my senses;my eyes and nose!I never even sneaked a crumb into my mouth but the thought of a fry-up now sends me into a frenzy! In the stair cupboard there is my favorite choccy bar, three of them to be exact but I might only have one . . .tomorrow of course! Thornton's Cappuccino Bar, those three words make me drool, I am quite controlled in the sense that I would never eat three or even two in one day.I know that a bar is high in fat and calories but I can not be exact without fetching one and letting you know the precise amount it contains . . .and then I might end up eating it.I must not go to the stairs cupboard, I hope it does not snow or I could freeze without my coat!
Sometimes the scales still fib, because I know I am losing weight or maybe it just has moved from my tummy area to somewhere else.My...

Tuesday - used a bit of self control and divided my day so that I did not overdo my calorie intake early in the day as I was taking Miss LJ out to tea before Parents Night. I restricted myself to 500 calories so that I had plenty left. By the time we sat down to eat I was starving and had to remind myself that on a Fast day I would have no calories left! Something definately happens to the brain on Fast day!

TDEE - 1881, Calories taken 1,504. 1.5 hour uphill walk, 1.5 litres of water, 2.5 hours at Parents Night (must count for something!) Weight this morning still 10st 6lbs that's good coming off a non-Fast day.

Well done to Miss LJ - excellent across every subject! - brains from her dad - bad sense of direction from mum

Wishing you all a great day X

Green sludge day today with extra kale which will take the calorie count up to 423 for the day. Extra kale to atone for yesterday's feed day which was all going rather well until I got bored with myself in the evening for not finding enough food to eat and I decided that I should not be under eating my TDEE.

Breakfast was carby,(75g) but I had not eaten since Sunday lunchtime (fast day) and had been training hard. I also had a tough yoga session to look forward to so did not want to wait until lunchtime. So the day looked like this:

Breakfast. Bulletproof coffee, banana bread (paleo), home made tea loaf, 1 banana (625 cals in total)
Lunch. Home made chicken tagine (304 cals)
Dinner. Garlic and cauliflower soup (72 cals)
Total 1000 calories and 433 under TDEE
Not hungry and bored with food but anxious about under eating.

Having just had my first telephone convo about "what are we doing for Christmas", I was inspired to try out a cocktail. And lo, an expresso martini was...
