Let me tell you a story about rhubarb. We live in the U.K's Rhubarb Triangle (feel free to Google - it's moderately interesting as our product is now on a par with Parmesan and Champagne!). Anyway, I digress ...we grow rhubarb in our garden and over the years it has been the subject of some dissension between my beloved and me. You see the problem has always been that I have been reluctant to use the rhubarb because, to my mind, it requires a fair bit of sugar to make it palatable and this has never been possible because I've been on a perpetual diet and I was not prepared to "sacrifice" my calories, points, syns or whatever other regime I was following at the time for the sugar to sweeten the rhubarb, resulting in the prolific stalks of rhubarb rotting back in to the ground. Understandably, there was a fair bit of muttering along the lines of "I don't know why I bother ....." from "him indoors". No more - I have embraced the idea of 5:2 fasting and have spent...

Current Actual Weight: 72.3kg (11 stone 5 pounds)
Current Trend Weight: 72.9kg (11 stone 7 pounds)

Yesterday, I mentioned that there was still some work ahead of me if I am to turn the overall weekly weight gain which I was still running at after the weekend's excesses, into an overall weekly weight loss. However, yesterday was also a very cold day where the temperature barely rose above freezing during the day, and I didn't really feel like doing a 16:8 day.

Because of that, I started off with some breakfast for the first time in quite a while, and that consisted of some scrambled eggs and two slices of bacon, washed down with a glass of full fat milk. For lunch, I then had two slices of turkey with some salad. With that, I had a pear, and a cup of soup which once again was washed down with another glass of milk.

Because it was so cold, it was important to keep some hot snacks in reserve and so, my mid afternoon snack consisted of a small handful of nuts and a cup of bovril. For my...

So this may be a really thick thing that I did but for the last month or so I've been using my scales in my lounge.... On the carpet. Little did I know that doing this would reduce my weight measurement by 10kg.... When I discovered this I not only kicked myself but spent the morning feeling terrible. The news that pulled me out of the bad mood was that I've lost over 3kg in the last few days. I know it's probably just water weight but it made me feel better.

Doing my second fast tomorrow, I've decided to try doing 4:3 seeing as I've got a lot to lose. I'll reduce my fast days once my weight is down a bit. I've planned my fast day food already, looking forward to my rice salad already!

Am really enjoying this WoE so far!
