Wahooooo :) nearly finished my first day back on the 5:2/4:3 diet! Feeling really great! Started the day with no breakfast, then had a nice little ham salad for lunch. Then went to the gym and had a really good session for me. I am starting to run again and want to be at 10k in about 10 weeks, so have started a really good new programme. Ran for 15 mins today, 3 min walk then another 10 mins run to finish. Might not sound a lot to some people but for me thats great! Did just over 4k. Then came home and ate chicken breast with salad and broccoli :) very successful fasting day. Gona try and eat healthy tomorrow, but not be overly strict. Feeling so good :) ...

yes it is definately becoming a way of life and we manage to fit in our 2 fast days every week- may not be the same 2 days but that doesn't really matter!!
More and more people are joining this WOE and it's great because it makes the support group bigger all the time.
As much as I wish everybody good luck who is doing- for example-LIGHTER LIFE, I am concerned that these diets are just a quick fix (we have all either tried them or know somebody who has!!) and after reaching one's target weight it all comes back on again with speed and all the money was wasted and the sachets eaten were a waste too.
This way- the 5:2- puts us in charge, we do not have to buy special meals etc and it is FOR LIFE, not just for a holiday, wedding etc.
I am having my medical- blood tests- at the end of july, six months after starting this WOE and cannot wait to see what it brings!!!
My joints, having had a bilateral hip replacement in 2007- are feeling good and I am pleased with the progress so far!!!!
Here is...

Another Fast day passes by and it was Mr LJ's turn for the brain hunger this time! I had no sympathy as he has one hundred calories more than me - well maybe a bit of sympathy

I was frozen by the time lunchtime rolled around, and it was later than I normally have it because I was looking for insurance on T'internet, I am sure if you have done this you know what an entertaining and stimulating task that is....or are you like me and just end up choosing the first one you looked at after two hours comparing?

Anyway, for lunch I had a tin of tuna with a small scoop of extra light mayo and a tin of spiced pumpkin soup, 299 calories, followed by a yoghurt at 99 calories. My total for the day was 502 calories and I managed to get the long walk in despite wind, rain, and a big sign warning that the path was closed due to roadworks, it wasn't because I kept going anyway and the workers were sitting...

weight: 8st 6-8lbs

Ok so Im out of my hole. I've pulled myself out and knocked myself about a bit. I'm now going to set a plan to get me through the Xmas which allows me to maintain and not put up weight. No point in hoping for a loss since if I couldn't lose in the last 4 weeks of no drinking then I'm not going to lose over xmas. The plan is to mix 16:8 with 5:2 and watch the carbs if possible.
i have a lot of parties so its good to have a plan that is not too restrictive or I will fail. Was feeling a little helpless earlier as had lots of cakes in front of me and I gave in and gobbled a maple pecan plait and a biscuit and then came home and ate left over tortilla chips and dip. Im still probably only around 1400 cals but it was a fast day gone wrong. Today is Tuesday and I have a party Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun. Therefore my aim is mini fast of 6-800 cals tomorrow(depending on the restaurant food for my xmas party), I wont ddrink. Thurs
i am going to fast but because it is a second...

So, not far from the end of today's fast and compared to my first few its gone really well! I've managed not to eat all day apart from my coffee and peach for breakfast and 2 fish fingers about half an hour ago. I have another rice salad for my evening meal but I'm wondering whether to eat bit or not. Would I be better eating it or not? To be honest its only 130cals so its not even that big a chunk out of my fasting cals.

I need to make another 2 rice salads tonight as I have one more fast day tomorrow and then I'm free for Friday and Saturday :) Hopefully tomorrow I can manage on just breakfast and evening meal without any fish fingers in the middle of the day :D I'm planning a roast dinner this weekend to celebrate if I manage it! XD
