:grin: so here i go!! my book arrived friday, i read it and was so enthuiastic about it i decided to start the next day.
set yesterday as my first fast day and will probable have, for future weeks,tuesaday and friday as my fast days and weigh in on saturdays.
so, the fast day went ok actually. what kept me going was knowing today is a normal day.
what however i didnt bank on was finding the "normal" day difficult. do i still eat within the calculated calorie intake that MFP had calulated? or do i just eat sensibly?
i find i need some sort of strictness so have decided to use MFP all the time and just adjust the fast day calorie intake.
time will tell and may need some adjustment so this site :geek: will be very handy. ...

Hi,
I've been on the 5:2 Fast Diet for 4 to 5 months. I'm 65, 6'1", athletic build. My goal was to get down to what I was at age 17 when the same height. I've revised this to less than this weight, because I now have less muscle. I'm nearly there. I was 14 stone 10 lbs when I started. I have a sore knee and hip, and continue to walk a kilometer and a bit, and do isometric and other floor exercises, each day. I've lost 2 stone 1 lb. I've just weighed myself the morning after a fast day, so it might not be quite this weight loss.

I'm way over-eating on some eating days. I compensate for this with a fast day the day after over-eating. So I'm averaging more than 2 fast days a week.

I'm committed to, and enthusiastic about, the Fast Diet. I'm grateful to Michael Mosley for devising and promoting it. It's revolutionary. It makes perfect sense to me theoretically. It works in practice; albeit that I have to learn to discipline myself to eat responsibly, which means in moderation, on...

Well this week has been another doozy. Started off last Sunday with having to take poor Garfield to the vet and leaving without him. I feel like a failed him but we were fighting a losing battle. He had pancreatitis, kidney failure, and virtually no red blood cells left where he was severely anaemic because of his kidneys. He stopped eating and drinking, and by last Sunday he lost his purr which he always had- he knew it was time and deep in my heart I knew it was time- I just wanted to spend longer than a week with him. Anyway, I won't be rescuing another cat anytime soon, not while I still have my fox terrier- she's a bit snappy with cats.

Work has been another week of hell- I can't wait for the Christmas holidays! We've already started rehursing songs for our nativity. By the time Christmas actually comes I'm sick of it because we have to do everything months in advance with little ones, Christmas starts in October lol. Anyway, just 5 or so weeks until my Christmas break (yay ...

So for this week at least, I decided to start all of my work days the same, in the end I will be using 2 of them for my fast days. Today is technically my second fast day since starting on Monday. Yesterday was rather moderate, so I am going to watch and see what effect that has on today's fasting.

Generally I plan to have 2 normal days between fasts, but we have company tomorrow, so it is not a good day to fast.

Currently I track my foods daily, and will keep that up, not for control so much as for information, I like to have the data.

SW 4/1/13 =274.8 (first started to play around with alternate fast days)
CW=268.8 (I weigh daily, I like having the data)

Sleep = 7hours 30 minutes of sleep 93% efficiency
Steps= 11,343

So off to the treadmill, then to work.

Yesterday, I had a good gym session despite doing that on an empty stomach, but the blood pressure readings are really killing this WOL to the point that I'm really not feeling like continuing with it any more. Anyway, yesterday's gym session also tired out me quite a bit to the extent where I was then struggling to even stay awake during yesterday afternoon.

Yesterday's lunch consisted of a couple of pieces of pitta bread with some...
