That's how I felt this morning when I got on the scales and saw 67.4kg! Lowest for many years :victory:
Of course, I keep telling myself, it's the day after a fast, but I'll still take it!

Today was the day I was curious about because the day after my last fast, I really struggled with dizziness and weakness. Today I've felt fine! In fact, on what has been a mentally challenging day, I have felt more in control than on other days like this where I feel as if I'm being challenged by everybody needing my attention for different reasons and decisions. So I'm not sure what I did differently, similar breakfast, similar lunch, haven't decided on dinner yet. I think I might have eaten less refined carbs and sugary treats today which may make a difference. I'm don't know much about the science of it, but in my head it makes sense that maybe my blood sugar was a bit out or fluctuating which is...

Oh-oh! My top lip's dried out & split; this is my personal classic start-of-cold symptom. No wonder my resistance to comfort food was so low yesterday.

Up again today on last week. This really is rather vexing. I have had a rather fab weekend, with 3 meals out, but they were all posh ones, so nice piece of meat/fish, with fancy sides, very little carb, and no puddings. So although I drank a fair bit, they weren't that carby or calorific. And I skipped meals over the weekend, to accommodate the extra food when eating out.

Other wise, I have been sticking to very low carb, and 16:8. So really, this isn't on. I should be able to get back to my weight of last summer, before the slow drift upwards.

So this week I'm doing 2 liquid fasts, 16:8 (or closer to 19:5), low carb, and ensuring I do my 10k steps everyday. I know this will work, although my evidence so far isn't supporting me.

I started 5:2 on Monday. I had got to the point where I was really fed up with being heavier than is healthy for me – which usually happens about this weight (about 89kgs). I came across the 5:2 book which I had bought several months ago and not even opened yet - I had seen the original Horizon programme with Michael Moseley and been intrigued, but not motivated at that time, although all the science made sense to me.

I've decided to have fast days on Mondays and Thursdays (seems a popular choice). I felt a little bit apprehensive as to how I would feel – think a lot of people who have almost unlimited access to food are afraid of feeling hungry.

Tuesday's fast was surprisingly fine! I'd intended to get up and breakfast on porridge but I didn’t feel hungry and so didn’t eat as it seemed unnecessary. Had a quiet day at home, only went out to fetch prescription from doctors and popped into M&S while waiting for it at the chemists. I had read on the 5:2 forum earlier in the day of ...

I did 5:2 solidly from mid-April till I started my holiday in early July and was quite happy with my results in conjunction with exercising three times or more a week. While on holiday I exercised almost every day and ate sensibly. :like: All set to return home and to the gym two weeks ago when I had an accident resulting in a fractured ankle. I'm stuck at home, bored, unlikely to return to work for another week and the cast isn't going to come off for another month at the very least. The spare tyre is back and I hate to think what weight I've regained. I'm relying on busy family members to make meals for me but I think I am going to have to be a lot more disciplined about what I'm eating since I can't do my usual exercise regime. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How'd you cope?
