]First day today - and I started with a fasting day. Usually not a drama for me, as I keep busy with work and they day passes quickly. But as soon as I tell myself I am on a diet or new eating plan I get hungry. I know its in my head mostly . Heaven help my head to adjust to my body!

SW 3/1/13 =274.8
CW=267.6 up .6 after an up day
Calories = 1695 (TDEE = 2200)
Net Carbs = 104g/25%
Fat= 102g/55%
Protein= 81g/20%
Sleep = 7:10 89%
Steps= 7787 6flights of stairs.

I track my food intake. On both the low calorie days and the normal calorie days. It is information I may need if this straight up 5:2 doesn't produce results, or for when I hit a plateau.

Yesterday, our dinner was essentially appetizers, that is what we do when we play cards. So my numbers are estimates. But I tried to be honest with myself and even maybe went over in my estimations.

As you can see the numbers are kind of low. In the past, when I was trying to hit that number, it was a chore. It seemed like deprivation. Last night, I was stuffed.

I am interested to see how having 4 "normal" days in a row effects that situation.

Beautiful outside today and tomorrow-yard work is in order! Love it.

Today has been an interesting one. Good interesting. Up until now (being 8.30pm) I managed to only have two ginger teas and a sugar-free chocolate drink with only water and a teaspoon of coffee (approx 9 cals.) I was trying as best I could to leave my meals as late as possible to help get to sleep, and I think it's just easier on my head if I don't have to think about spacing my meals out.

Gotta say, I found it hard. I was alright up until about 3pm then I really had to go hour by hour to get through. At about 5pm the sugar-free chocolate drink in boiling water was amazing. The heat and massive change in flavour was brilliant. I can understand where people come from when they drink oxo or something similar. I'm not sure if I could do that personally, haven't had the stuff in the house to try, but just the massive change in temp and flavour is satisfying. But I did feel weak and tired. Thankfully I don't work so was able to hide in my bedroom and read from 5pm until about 8.15pm. It was...

It's Boxing Day morning. I'm 39 and I'll be 40 at the end of September next year and I really want to be 12 stone by then. I'm 15st 10lb now. I have a nine month old boy and we're trying for a second. I want to lose weight to help us with that goal, but I also want to be fit and healthy for them. Most of all though, I want to be fit and healthy for me.

I tried fasting a couple of years ago but I tied it in with stopping sugar and alcohol for lent. I lost quite a bit but it all went back on. This time I want to lose the weight, get fit and maintain the weight loss forever hopefully.

After yesterday's Christmas gorge-fest (lovely) I'm avoiding going down to breakfast (we're staying in a hotel in Edinburgh, spending Christmas with family). There's another family meal this afternoon, and skipping breakfast seems like a good idea.

Weigh day today and… drum roll please.. I have lost 4lbs! Not in just a week. I'm not really sure how long it's took me, but maybe 2 weeks of half heartedly doing IF then 1 week of doing it properly. Not sure how I have lost weight because I have eaten so much on non-fast days - really overcompensated! But I have and I'm not complaining. I don't feel overly slimmer - this morning I felt slightly slimmer but nothing to write home about. But this is definatley a point in the right direction, because by New Year I hope to be in the 10st single pounds range; that means 5 more lbs left to go. I think thats manageable, as long as I stick to the 1lb loss per week rule. Going to try and do the 4:3 diet as much as is possible though, and have my week tuesday-tuesday. Meaning this week I will probably fast wednesday and monday, maybe with a day in between - friday or saturday. It's harder for me as I am going home at the weekend. Although Wednesday and Thursday would be good, not sure how people c...
