Well, this is my first day... of the rest of my life!

My brother has been doing fasting for years for health benefits only (he's skinny, and always has been!). Lately though, with all the hype surrounding it, I've decided to read up and see what it's all about and can't WAIT to live longer!

Everything makes perfect sense; I  the science behind it all! :geek: ...And, of course, I'm hoping to lose a bit of weight into the bargain!!

Good luck to all the others starting their fasts today! ...And no stuffing our faces tomorrow - This is a eating plan for the rest of forever, so it's back to normal, until the next time! ...

Hello - looking for information on how to change user status to maintenance. I noticed that the stats on weight loss are tracking how much weight is lost for 5:2ers weekly. My status shows that I'm not losing much weight and the reason is because I've reached my goal and am just maintaining. I actually lost almost 2 lbs per week while on the program but the chart shows me as losing 1/2 lb. a week because I haven't changed to maintenance. I want people to know how successful the program is and my stats can help but it's not correct right now. Any suggestions?

As of now:
1. I will forget who I was and focus on who I want to be. If I don’t let go of my past then I won’t find my future.

2. If I start something, I finish it. If I'm not going to finish what I started, then why bother starting in the first place?

3. I exercise regularly. I am an animal and animals are made to move and to push their limits.

This is Day 1 of my new 5:2 way of life. It is sustainable and easy. While I take control of my health in this way, I will also work to become the most productive and successful person I can be.

SW: 132 lbs

I will weigh in once a week maximum. This is not about being obsessed with the scale, it ...

The human mind is an amazing thing, it has very interesting ways of convincing you and making you believe in mirages. I was always a petite child and a young adult. I ate like a horse and still didn't put any weight. I believed that I was just one of those lucky people who would stay that way all my life. My family genetics seemed to hint at this too as my parents and my sister are very slim. So imagine my feelings for being the odd one out.
After the birth of my son I gained a few pounds and went from size 8 to size 10. A lot of people would say that is hardly an issue as it is a healthy size and I would agree with it too. But I was in a very unhealthy relationship and my ex was very domineering and critical. He kept on criticising my very small weight gain. I was a sleep deprived full time working exhausted new mother who was raising my young son single handedly as conveniently my ex decided to work 400 miles away at this very critical time when I needed his support the most. I...
