Just got back from a week away by myself with the dog. I ate sensibly with only a very few treats and I did two fasts. I also waked 50 miles. I have just weighed myself and have stayed the same. What is going on? That is so disheartening - I was expecting to find at least a couple of pounds off. Fed up.

Well yesterday was my first fast day ever and it went really well, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. It was also the first day back at school for the girls and work for me.

The morning and the school run went really well to say we had all been off for 2 weeks. Once the girls where at school I headed home to do my jobs before I started work. I am a lunchtime supervisor and after school club TA at the girls school and I also volunteer 3 afternoons a week too.

Before going to work I managed to do some small jobs round the house, go to the supermarket and prepare the evening meal. This I thought would be hard as I had not eaten due me planning to split my daily allowance between 2 meals, 1 about 1,15pm and 1 with the family in the evening. However I had no issues making the meals up and even enjoyed doing them. I did have glasses of water with a hint of lemon.

I headed off to work with my first meal and my bottle of lemon water, once the lunchtime was over I had planned...

Somehow I just haven't had the time to post on the blog, it's just been so hectic with work and everything, and every other day my kids are sick (DS is home with chickenpox now...) but here I am now, with good news to report.

Despite not being active on my blog, I have been faithfully plodding away with 5:2, plus exercise, but with all the goings-on I haven't been weighing myself at all (procrastination is y middle name...)

Till today, that is. And I have good news.

Starting Weight: 99 kg

Current Weight: 92 kg !!

Interim Goal: 90 kg

Very very exciting...and of course motivating! I actually like doing it this way - not weighing myself for forever, getting used to the WOE without the added pressure of checking if it is actually working, why aren't the numbers down, etc... because this was such a great surprise!

I was feeling good, I knew I had lost something because of course my clothes were feeling good and loose and some people...

I weighed myself yesterday for the first time since starting the 5:2 diet. This is my second week on the diet and yesterday I weighed-in at 66.2 kg. This is lighter than I expected. I guess I'm just learning the major difference between morning and evening weigh-ins! I plan to weigh myself each Monday morning, in my PJs, and avoid the temptation to jump on the scales any other time!

Today was my first fast day for the week. So far i've delayed eating until lunch time on fast days. I find that once I start eating, I want to keep eating! Today I had . . .
Tuna & salad (214)
Berries & greek yoghurt (117)
Miso Soup with bok choy & shallots (54)
1 hard boiled egg (61)
7 rice crackers (50)

I'm looking forward to breakfast tomorrow!
