Although I am just starting my 2nd week, I thought I better review all my research and add all my details to a blog, as I was just calculating the diet as and when I found other details!
Total daily energy expenditure (TDEE) calculator
Age 48
Start weight 93 Kilo, 14.654 Stone or 205 pounds
Height 5'7" or 170cm
Result - 1808- 2259 Calories per day

As I am following the ADF diet, this meant that I would have a 1/1 routine . so in effect one day 500 calories and the next 1808- 2259
Then I entered my details on MyFitnessPal and they said I should be on 1230 Calories per day.
Taking 1230 cal per day, x 2 = 2460 cal for a 2 day group
2460cal - 500 cal = 1960 which equates to 500 cal fast day/1960 feed day which is in the middle of the target.
I am managing to keep to around the 500 calories for a Fast day. I would never choose to do this, but it is getting easier each time and the hard work is paying off.
I have much more of a problem on Feed days! Because of different diets in the...

Hello everyone - 6 years ago I managed to lose 72 lbs through healthy eating and exercise and for the most part, have managed to keep it off. I went from 15st 4lb - 10st 4lb, so why have I joined the 5:2 forum and eating pattern? Well over the last 9 months I have started to gain weight and whilst I am clinging onto the right side of 11st, its only just there.

But all the methods I have used before no longer seem to work. Whether that's because I am getting older or quite simply my body has wised up to my eating pattern, I am terrified of going back to where I was.

So, I need a new approach and a strategy that is sustainable and fits in with family life. My eldest son is a Medical Research Charge Nurse and I went through the "science" element with him. Whilst as he says the proof is in the eating,(or not for 2 days!) he has seen patients who have successfully lost weight and gained health - so I am on board and hoping to be one of those success myself.

I would love to hear...

In a few days it will be a month since I started the 5:2 way of eating. I have shed 5.7 kg, which I believe is pretty close to a stone - I like the image that evokes, dropping stones by the wayside on my road to a healthier, much lighter me! My waist circumference is 5 cm less than when I started, and I can definitely feel the difference in my clothes. I have also noticed how much more comfortable I am in my weekly yoga class!

I have found it delightfully easy to adjust to this new way of eating. Had some headaches when I first started but now I feel just fantastic and have a lot more energy. On fast days I skip breakfast and lunch and usually have the same dinner as the rest of the family, so it's minimum fuss. On feed days I eat pretty much what I like, including the odd chocolate and cake (in reasonable amounts though). I also enjoy my usual few glasses of wine on the weekends, but interestingly I have noticed that I've almost completely stopped snacking. I don't count my calories...

That's the sound of me drumming my fingers waiting for loo related stuff to be delivered.... could be a long day with no dog walk.

Anyway, morning to you and if you were Fasting yesterday I hope it went well. I had a good day fortified by a ready meal and cups of tea. I was hungry by the time I went to bed but as usual it had gone by the morning.

I am still having breakfast but I try to be better controlled with my calories. I have started the day today with a banana and a fat free yogurt. I'll have a piece of fruit mid morning and a lunch of crispbreads and low fat cheese spread (laughing cow blue, 25 cals per triangle).

Another bit of fruit in the afternoon and a decent dinner - already prepped and in the freezer - loin of pork cassoulet! I don't no how to spell cassoulet - Have a great day, I'm off to hang around in a useless fashion! Image...

Hi .Its been a while since I visited this website. A few weeks ago I went to a wedding and then took a trip away. I put half a stone on in two weeks. Got back on track after my holiday and have shed 5 pounds in two weeks. Sitting here now nearly a stone and a half lighter than when I started - is a great feeling. I'm now planning to do some more exercise and tone myself up a bit. The best bit is now feeling more comfortable in my clothes and buying size large instead of XL!I will carry on doing this until i'm completely satisfied and comfortable in my own skin.
