Got a virus and struggling to keep positive. No loss last week now I know why. And away at center parcs this weekend with 13 other family members. Hope it's gone by Friday as the temp fluctuations in the swimming pool and activities we've booked etc will not be great. I. rarely get ill. So no running or exercise classes this week now :frown:

Just messing around on Facebook, and I found one of several 5:2 fast pages with an interesting link.....

Mark Butcher discusses information about 5:2 after contacting the scientists who were involved in the original Horizon programme to clarify some questions....

It seems as though the issues we all talk about on this forum and others are still being investigated and different ways of doing 5:2 may be better than others..

For me it's interesting that the idea of a full 24 hours or even consecutive fasting days may give better health results. I haven't managed either of these yet but I might be motivated to try....

My typical fast arrangements are dinner around 6 m- 8pm on the day before and a low cal hot chocolate at around 9:30 ish, then fast until as late as possible the next day (usually between 3 pm and 7pm ish)...

Yesterday, thursday was my 2nd fast day and again a workday. Work was busy but not as crazy as monday and I was less cranky. Or at least I think I was less cranky. I did have one coworker ask if everyone was PMSing at the same time? She works with us a couple times a month and thought everyone was cranky.

I did end up getting a protein bar at 1am because I could not sleep, had a headach and jumpy legs. Not sure if this was a bad habit returning as I worked nights for so long and 1 am was "lunchtime" and for a couple of years after I went to days I still got hungry at 1am. We will see next week if this is a problem or a one time thing.

Felt pretty good today and was able to run/walk and move around without problems.

It 's a bit depressing that I haven't lost any more weight. We both lost kilos after the first week and I've lost heaps off my waist, but no weight loss since the first week. We are now entering week 5. I am starting to doubt.

It is winter. So I guess I can think that normally I would be gaining weight. So just holding it at 75kg is worth celebrating. Maybe.

Fast day! I normally alternate between a Monday or Tuesday fast because every second week I have an appointment on one. I like to avoid fasts when I have these appointments, especially the Monday one as it can be quite emotionally stressful. Which can sometimes lead to watching a 'treat' for being good and going. However today went remarkably well. I made sure to have a yummy lunch (vege soup and a poached egg) as close as possible to going. I also took a travel mug of chilled green tea with berry flavoured stevia with me, which was brilliant.

I had a really yummy dinner of vege soup, 6.5 prawns (one was a tiny one - 99g) and a mushroom. Cooked the prawns and mushroom with 1 tsp of coconut oil and salt. Delish!! I can see both of these meals becoming regular fast feels. It definitely seems to make a difference have really yummy meal on a fast day. I really have to try and remember that, especially as todays meals were not at all hard to organise.

I have a small tub of yoghurt set for...
