Hi all,
Not been here for a week or so, just getting my head around the plan. I have almost managed to fast I gave in and had a couple of rich tea biscuits on Tuesday, but Im back on it today.. hopefully. My problem is that I get the munchies once I have had something to eat. Is it ok if I munch on carrots during the day and then have my dinner in the evening??

Fast day! I normally alternate between a Monday or Tuesday fast because every second week I have an appointment on one. I like to avoid fasts when I have these appointments, especially the Monday one as it can be quite emotionally stressful. Which can sometimes lead to watching a 'treat' for being good and going. However today went remarkably well. I made sure to have a yummy lunch (vege soup and a poached egg) as close as possible to going. I also took a travel mug of chilled green tea with berry flavoured stevia with me, which was brilliant.
I had a really yummy dinner of vege soup, 6.5 prawns (one was a tiny one - 99g) and a mushroom. Cooked the prawns and mushroom with 1 tsp of coconut oil and salt. Delish!! I can see both of these meals becoming regular fast feels. It definitely seems to make a difference have really yummy meal on a fast day. I really have to try and remember that, especially as todays meals were not at all hard to organise.

Today I can't stop eating rubbish... I have chocolate and m&m's coming out of my ears. I'm not even hungry and I'm just eating... Why am I doing this to myself? I'm going to end up undoing all the good behaviours and weight I've lost. I'm a little bit worried. I'm hoping when I go back to work tomorrow I'll have structure again and be in control of everything. I feel so low and miserable right now, full of self loathing.

I been following this WOE for four weeks now and have already lost 9kgs, which I am thrilled about. For the first fast days my energy levels where quite low, I felt more cold than usual. Now my energy levels are normal on a fast day but I still prefer it to not be an extremely hectic day. I'd much rather stay at home working than having a busy work day outdoors.
I noticed two quite different positive side effects:
I used to have to start using reading glasses but because I had only got cheap ones which probably weren't the right ones,
I kept putting them on and off, both ways (with or without glasses)
didn't feel right. Since starting the fasting my eyes seem to have gotten better, I don't need to use the reading glasses at all any more.
And my muscles seem to want to move, they feel less floppy. I had quite a bad cold and therefore wasn't even able to do any of my regular exercise which I usually do 2-3 times a week. And still my leg muscles felt less tired and more...

Hello Readers
For anyone interested, and my own memory!
I'm quite surprised how well 5:1 works out for me this time. When I say this time, I mean I've played with the concept a few times, but the previous fast days didn't give the boost I'm getting now.
So what's different?
First of all I've been around paleo for a while, but been bad at keeping it straight. The thing is, we love bread at home. While cutting away potatoes, rice and whatnot carb in sight, bread was/is the thing we miss most - and the downfall of previous attempts to get rid of some 10-15 kilos too much. While others could eat a lot of cream, eggs and bacon and still lose weight, I couldn't, and then gave up being consistent.
This time 5:2 has given results right away, in kilos lost and in general "lightness". So these are the "rules" that work now:
1. On eat days, don't feel guilty, EAT!
2. On eat days, do not binge either.
3. Skip carbs, go for vegetables and the good fats. (Eat better stuff)
4. On...
