Well, have been at this since March. Am still at it. Am never going to be not at it.

The thing is that daughter number one has read I QUIT SUGAR and has made me realise how bad sugar is for you and so now am off sugar and also fasting 5:2.

I want to find out whether there is anyone else out there doing the same. :?:

Today seemed to be super stressful in work. I think it's because we're having a "mini OFSTED" tomorrow to make sure the Foundation unit is still achieving as it should since our department has had some trouble in the past. So everyone is very stressed out. Normally that would be the time I run for the biscuit tin or a bar of chocolate but today I managed to fast for about 18hrs. I'm finding not eating lunch much easier. I feel anti-social not sitting with my co-workers but I didn't really feel like being around people eating (not at the moment anyway) plus having to walk all the way up to the staffroom would mess with my back. But yes, I ate a few salad leaves, some cherry tomatoes and a little red pepper at 3:30 before our department meeting. Even that I didn't really feel like eating. I was so ready for dinner tonight though. I still feel hungry-ish though, I should be full but I'm not ...

I prefer doing my walks fasted, before my window opens. Over the last week or so I have done 2 more stretches of the Settle Carlisle way; from Horton in Ribblesdale to Ribblehead last Tuesday, and from Ribblehead to Garsdale station on Saturday. I keep these walks for special days when the weather is splendid, to justify the train fare and to enjoy the train ride as much as the walk. As I have to set a brisk pace to try and catch the mid-afternoon train it reminds me of my early days in the Lakes - no car, no money, able to afford the bus fare but not a restaurant if I had to wait for an evening bus, balancing the urge to bag an extra Wainwright or two with the need to have enough energy to make the bus stop. It is such a relief to see the little 2-car multiple unit grumbling along to the remote train station to take me home.

On other days when it is reasonably fit I am doing walks from the Penrith Ramblers book, in sequence. Today I decided not to go up Place Fell as it was blotted...

I've had a 2 day headache now. I thought that I drank plenty, obviously not. I Started diet on Monday, today is second fast. Doing ok. But just found out from my progress checker that I can have 595 cals on fast day as I exercise at least three times a week. A a bit dubious about this but I cheered as its my daughters 12th birthday and I'd like a sliver of cake.

 Whoever suggested Shirataki noodles should be given a medal! These really make a fast day bearable. I have done stir fries, spag bog, chilli con carne etc. etc. The whole sachet is only 4 cals. Any other wonder foods on offer?
