My original plan was two weeks of 4:3, 14:8. After reading more on this forum and due to diary commitments I have decided only to fast two days this week - which I have already done.

I'm now lost though. Can I part-fast? Should I calorie count? Do I just eat what I want?

I don't get it, and I feel uncomfortable. I like the structure and rules of other diets whereas this seems a suck it and see, and find which way works for you within quite a wide range of guidelines. I can see the advantage of that but for me, I am lost.

I have worked out my TDEE which depending on what method I use ranges from 1200 to 1700 so that gives me no help.

I need to lose weight and I don't want to waste time getting it wrong - what if I eat too much? what if I eat too little?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

Today I have managed 14:10 (11am - 6pm) and I have eaten 1300calories of healthy and nutritional food ( I haven't eaten 1300 calories of cake...

As another fast begins it feels rather like I fast more than I eat now! Nit a bad thing. I was worried I would be hungry today as my last food yesterday was at 4 pm. If it was a feed day I could certainly eat my breakfast but I can just as easily do without it. My body must be so confused just now...am I getting food today or not.....hopefully I am forcing it into burning some of the fat.
A thought that went through my head was where does all our fat actually go? Scary place my head!
So today I will fast as that is what I do on Wednesdays, knowing that even if my weight is not reducing I am being kind to my body. I make no commitment to continue with this long term as I will not set myself up for failure....been there too many times. I will take each day as it comes and enjoy being at peace with my body.

This is the morning of my third fast(2nd week) and last week (2 fasts) I lost 2kg. With every other diet plan I have not made it past the third week but here I am even looking forward to my fast day today and more importantly, a loss. We are coming up to summer here in NZ and even tho I have a lot to lose and I won't do it before summer, I am positive about feeling better about myself this summer. This is the first fast day I have been at work for and I'm a bit worried the hunger will distract me. By the time morning tea comes, I am almost gnawing off my own arm but I have changed a few things in the last week, I am having less breakfast and morning tea and the hunger is the same level, so I guess that's a positive...right!!! I have told a few people about what I'm doing, a bit reluctant to be honest cause they have all heard about my diets before. My son says " here we go again". I have only told people out of necessity and they are supportive, my mum is even doing this also...

On my 8th fast. I'm down 6.5 lbs... more than I expected possible. I'm finding this Tuesday/Thursday fasting is extremely compatible with my weekend cycling (and occasional mid-week cycling). I'm getting ready for a 6,000-7,000 calorie burn ride on Saturday...
I believe that there has been very little muscle wasting in these efforts -- and that loss is chiefly occurring to fat. The final result, I
will
be
faster.
