Here I go again trying to loose weight. Dieted for years on & off. The weight goes down & then goes up. I have health issues that definitely would improve if I wasn't as heavy. A couple of years ago I had a heart scare (turned out to be genetic) but the cardiologist advised me to loose weight or I would die. Well I didn't listen & now weigh even more.

Fast forward to 05/12/2012 when I became a grandma (I'm actually YiaYia) to the gorgeous Ethan. I WILL NOT loose out on being with him for as long as I possibly can.

I hope 5:2 will help in my new way of life.

Sunday night, knowing I'd be fasting today, I ate some bundt cake I wasn't really in the mood for...got to watch that "preventive eating." I suppose I could blame shopping at Whole Foods (for those not in the U.S., its nickname is "Whole Paycheck," and the bakery is legendary), but I'm the one who needs to be responsible for what I buy and what I eat. No one else.

Finally - got my groove on today. Lunch one chia pod and supper was a cucumber and tomato salad with cider vinegar.

Yesterday at the office, one of my colleagues bought me a burger for lunch from a chain called In N Out. I can't believe I ate it (including the fries). One hour later, I had palpitations. Lord only knows what was in it. I found out afterward that they do a protein only one which is basically a burger wrapped in lettuce rather than a bun.

I regretted it this morning when I saw the sky and realised shorts weather has arrived here. I have basically been in something of a holding pattern since I got here - gained a bit, so it's time to start thinking about the summer. I had originally given myself a year to lose all my weight. However I have a wedding to go to just before my annual fastiversary, so I need to start thinking about picking things up properly again. Thanks for sticking with me everyone and giving...

I still don't feel that I've 'cracked' this fasting thing yet. I'd like to be able to carry on just as if it was any other day, but I find myself thinking about fasting all the time, and just filling in time while I wait for my evening meal. I'm always procrastinating

Since 21 st January I have lost 6 lbs and 1.5 inches off my waist; I have successfully done 21 fasts. It's 11 1/2 weeks since I started and I know I will continue to have fasting days in my life. :snail:

Fasting has become more important to me since I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Losing weight can only make me fitter and healthier, and fasting may help to fight inflammation, reduce pain and slow the progression. :like: ...

Today is a fasting day for me and I will keep busy with work and a long walk on this sunny cool July day. My spirits are up and I feel great...all I think due to being back on my fasting schedule.

Focusing on more water today. I know I haven't been drinking enough. I am filling a container to keep in the fridge so I can track better.

I am still having a few cravings for higher carbs so I think this 3rd fast will help. I know this is the lifestyle for me and am so glad to have found this site. All the information you want is right here. Many thanks to the people who run this program!
