Yes! Down again, back to my lowest weight so far:74.6kg. I was afraid it would be up today as we had dinner guests last night and a big meal. Last time I weighed 74.6, 3weeks ago, it was after we'd had a light meal the night before and my sister, a sceptic, had suggested that the reason I had a lower than normal weight was because I hadn't eaten a big meal the night before. I now know that this isn't right. My body has a new set point weight. It is between 74.5 and 75 kg. I have weighed in this range for the last month. It has moved down from being between 75 and 76kg.

I like the idea of the set point. It explains the plateau phenomonom. Your body has a set point weight and hovers around that weight. When you lose a lot of weight fast, too far below what your body recognises as normal, you put weight back on, and can't lose any more, and you experience the 'famine reaction'. You just have to jolly it along, not starve yourself, reassure your body that there isn't a famine, that you will...

So I have decided to fast again today, after fasting both Monday and Wednesday. This is the first time I am trying three days of fasting in one week. The reason I am so motivated is because was able to get my twin sister involved! I wasn't originally going to fast today but because she decided to fast today (she only fasted Monday this week) I am going to do it with her! We are both going home for a week at the beginning of July and want to look and feel FABULOUS! I am just so excited to have my twin involved! It has been about 5 weeks since I've started and I am already down 8lbs and feel so much better, it's amazing.

It is only 10:24am here in Miami, and i am a bit hungry, but i'm going to hold off till lunch to eat a small bite, and then my twin and I will enjoy dinner together tonight.

I have not been a blogger, but here goes. This WOE seems to suit me. So far,I have done 5 fasts and the scales are moving down. My belly is smaller.

Four years ago, I lost 30 pounds counting calories and gained 20 back. I found counting not sustainable in the long run. The only thing that saved me from putting even more was not having my fat clothes. The goal is to wear the size small/medium, and not wear, or fit into, the medium/large.

At 62, losing weight is more difficult than it was 20 years ago. But the scales are going down.

My goal is sustainable weight loss, keeping my weight in the healthy range. I want to keep the food cravings under control. The book suggests that 5:2 should/could improve health. I don't have issues now and keeping my body going is important.

My DH has a vending business and has a garage full of chocolate bars, chips, pop. I guess that would be sweets, crisps and sodas in other parts of the world. So the treats are always available. A big goal...

I just came back from my doc. I measured my cholesterol levels. The numbers were quite good actually. I am glad. Before my test I took time and searched online for cholesterol and cholesterol related information. Cholesterol is know to be bad. This is general public opinion. But cholesterol is not bad at all! Your body produces it! And it produces it a lot. If you measure cholesterol levels and get a number you must realize that 80% of that number is actually cholesterol that was produced by your body (liver). Only 20% of that number was introduced into your body by eating cholesterol rich foods.
If cholesterol was bad, than why would your body produced it?
Cholesterol is a wax-like substance which is found in all tissues of the body, since a significant part of all kinds of cell membranes, and form an integral part of some hormones as well. Cholesterol is produced in the liver and some other organs, a part of cholesterol can be entered with food. Cholesterol-rich sources include milk fat,...
