Took Bruno dog to agility training this morning having dosed myself up with cold cure. Helped that the sun was shining! Bruno did very well and is definitely less bouncy. He has been crashed all afternoon!
Sadly another duckling hatched this morning and died within hours. That is five I have lost so far leaving it to nature. Last year I put the eggs in the incubator and raised four healthy ducks. Have found a home for my ducks, just waiting for the call to arrange collection. I will be very sad to see them go but it has to happen. I will still have my chickens and the three chicks are growing well.
Did some more clearing out today which always feels good.
Have been sent application forms for sheltered housing for dad. Am going to leave it for a few days. I need to speak to various people first to find out the result of his community care assessment.
Received a letter from the insurance company today asking for some paperwork because they have not heard from the garage yet. The letter was...

Yes! Down again, back to my lowest weight so far:74.6kg. I was afraid it would be up today as we had dinner guests last night and a big meal. Last time I weighed 74.6, 3weeks ago, it was after we'd had a light meal the night before and my sister, a sceptic, had suggested that the reason I had a lower than normal weight was because I hadn't eaten a big meal the night before. I now know that this isn't right. My body has a new set point weight. It is between 74.5 and 75 kg. I have weighed in this range for the last month. It has moved down from being between 75 and 76kg.

I like the idea of the set point. It explains the plateau phenomonom. Your body has a set point weight and hovers around that weight. When you lose a lot of weight fast, too far below what your body recognises as normal, you put weight back on, and can't lose any more, and you experience the 'famine reaction'. You just have to jolly it along, not starve yourself, reassure your body that there isn't a famine, that you will...

hi all,

started the 5:2 back in mid jan. So far have lost just over 9 kgs and about 3 inches off waistline-most impressive thing though is a remarkable drop in cholesterol. 7.0 before the diet and now 5.6 in 10 weeks. Really happy with that-so going from borderline needing medication to more or less normal (for Uk).I shall continue and try and get it below 4.0. progress may be slower though as the weight loss slows down?

I started on this process about 2-3 weeks ago and I am learning to love myself and listen to my body. This hasn't been a miracle cure but it has opened my mind and body to the concept that I won't die or feel terrible if I don't conform to the norm and eat three times a day.

It has not yet become an automatic choice thing yet, my brain occasionally over rides my body and I eat more than I need to at a meal but more often than not I have successfully cut down on portion sizes. The way it works for me is this...I serve up a smaller than previously normal portion and enjoy the meal. Then if there is anything left over I decline to help myself to seconds but I promise myself that if in half an hour I really am hungry, I can have a little bit more. What I am finding is that it never occurs to me to get up and help myself to more.

Denial doesn't work for me but choice does and on my weekly weigh in the weight is gently reducing. I feel liberated and much more in control of my body and...
