Well, despite over eating especially over the new year, I think my weight gain of around 1.5 lb is not too bad. I have fasted, just as well as before Christmas but my eating in between fasting days is a bit chaotic. I have decided to drink more water on none fast days to see if that helps, and have started to slow my eating rate down. My problem is the binge eating, I hope that this improves over the next few months. I am hoping to loose 14-16 lb in 2014 and a further half a stone after then.
On a positive note, my son in law has started 5;2 this week and my wife announced that she is going to join me.

So after last week's splurge between fasts I gained 600gms but I'm ok with that, surprisingly. If this is meant to be a way of life then these hiccups will happen.
First fast of week 4 done yesterday, was difficult, headache back, took panadol this time and rode it out. Drank lots of water but maybe not as much as I usually do, very hot here still. Last night's dinner was heaven in a bowl!! Am astounding myself as to how slow I can eat, seriously savouring every mouthful, I'm sure many can relate to this!!
Have discovered a new fantastic problem now, shorts are too big yay!! Feeling so great today, so hoping that this will be the lifestyle I've been looking for when I can finally stay in control, so over the yo yo dieting thing! People are now telling me "you've lost weight" which is great but people I've been there before and put it back on.
Not this time, I'm determined!!!
I can...

I was worried about fasting or not fasting on holiday in Syndey. I mostly fasted.

Today was weigh in day and I haven't weighed in for 3 weeks. So to recap: I started at 78kg. As soon as I started I went down to 75kg and then I stayed there week after week. THen at the end of May dropped down below 75. Hovered there for months. My thoughts this morning as I headed for the scales were that I didn't want to keep weighing week by week and seeing that I hadn't lost any weight. It was too discouraging. I have read posts here of people wanting to give up on the 5:2. I don't want to give up but it's hard to keep going when you're not losing weight. Well, the amazing news is that I have dropped down to 71.9. I've skipped the 73s altogether - although no doubt I'll go there next week! so what I'm thinking is: don't weigh every week. Make it a monthly weigh in? Can I do that? I think it might be better for me.

It seems that being on holiday in Syndey did nothing to stop weight loss. Those gelatos,...

So... I have now moved down 2 sizes in my pants since beginning this WOE in July. And it may be closer to 3 sizes since my largest pants were tight and I hated wearing them. So realistically I was probably into the next size but stubbornly avoiding buying them.

Today I'm wearing my 18s and they are a good fit. Not too tight anywhere. The only downside of this is the pants themselves. They are an odd design with no proper front pocket and a weird button/slide tab waist closure. They are also thin. Given that it is winter here that isn't the best of news. However, the important thing is that they fit.

I guess I'm going to have to suck it up soon and buy some new pants because I don't think there is much more in the closet below these. (Last year I cleaned out the majority my small clothes and gave most of them away.) I hate clothes shopping, particularly for pants since I have an hourglass figure and the styles don't really suit that. But I may have to brave it soon. Wish me...

Today sees me home for the first time since Thursday when I went to the doctor's after work and was shipped off to hospital, expecting a minor procedure before being sent home. Instead, I was kept in for an ultrasound scan which has shown a massive growth; clearly that's why the loss from my waist has stopped. I'm now waiting for an MRI scan. I was told two different things- initially that I would come home on day leave so that I could join the MRI waiting list tomorrow, then, that I was being discharged and would have to wait for an appointment, which might be in six weeks. I insisted that I should return to hospital this evening, and, fortunately the doctor has agreed to that.

So, it's a waiting game. I don't know how long I will have to wait for the scan, and I don't know whether the growth is likely to benign or not, although nothing has shown up on my blood tests. It looks as though I'll be having some type of surgery, but I don't yet know whether that is urgent.

Strangely,...
